Tell me about it! Not sure how much I had to pay for this...

You had me at “Why buy a BMW M6?”

That’s magnificent. I’d take the fender skirts off the back, but other than that, it’s perfect. Good find.

It’s still summer, so going on a road trip on something that’s *not* a convertible is simply unacceptable. A big Caddy, though, seems almost stereotypical. But it needs to be something classic to lend a sense of occasion. Unfortunately there’s always some trepidation about older vehicles and their reliability.

Seems a touch awkward that the all-American (but not-so-secretly made in Canada) Camaro is sponsored by maple syrup. I’d think that Chevy would be trying to keep the car’s Canuck heritage a little more on the DL. What else have they flubbed? Does the satnav respond with “Eh?” after every instruction? Does the car

Chill, you guys, it’s one 911. I just can’t get that worked up about it when I think of the dozens of Chargers that died to make this piece of shit movie (or the hundreds destroyed in the TV series that inspired it). Or that fact that a rarer 928 was destroyed for Risky Business. Hell, they ruined a friggin’ Citroen

And Mazda is definitely bringing back the RX-7. Totes. For real.

Just need to pull this old car out of mothballs, change a few logos, and bam! Profit.

Just because it’s standard doesn’t mean that it isn’t gouging or that I don’t get to be annoyed by it. If there’s a line item on a bill that says an alternator costs, say, $300 when the exact same part can be had from NAPA/AutoZone for $150, then that’s gouging. It’s become standard practice because most people don’t

“Most shops have a simple markup on parts”

Here’s an incredibly rare Australian export model Oldsmobile Starfire! Needs a bit of work, but the auction includes two parts cars!

Everyone’s beating you up over forgetting about Utes (and whatever the hell this thing was), and overlooking the fact that you’ve made the correct choice. The El Camino, in particular your entry, is just so...AMERICAN! I mean:

Now playing

Secretly*, NASCAR loves this, though. Poole doesn’t bring fans and dollars, so they might come down on him a bit, but IIRC, Carl Edwards got off with double-secret probation for this move a few years ago.

First thought: Man, Doug should get a better camera. Some of that in-car audio quality isn’t that great. Surely he could get something really trick and write it off?

I’d even say try out the Focus ST, which, while a little less speedy, is still a heck of a lot of fun. Or try an STi for something still hot but less hatchy.

I was shopping at CarMax a while back and they were even iffy about printing out the damned warranty prices for me.

I'm going to try to hit the 4/14 event in Pittsburgh, although I'll be (a) driving from Dayton, and (b) not in a Miata.

Thanks, Stef! I really like this wallpaper. I was having some problems with it initially, though, so I had to detune it to 640x480. Everyone else in the office is running some damned Mercedes wallpaper at 4K, but I'm confident I'll have everything sorted in a few weeks.

Not every car with DRLs has automatic headlights. 8th Gen Civics are notoriously bad for this, since (a) they have DRLs, (b) the headlights have to be turned on manually, and (c) their digital dashes are brightly lit, giving the impression that "my dash lights are on, my lights must be on."

"YO MAN!!! CHECK THIS OUT!!! THIS GUY'S GOT A FERRRRARI!!!!!"
