You know, I was going to say that for what it is, the Town Car isn't bad. If you're an octagenarian and just don't care about driving dynamics at all, and only want a big plushy car to waft along in, then the Town Car makes sense.

I'm away for a day and a travesty like this occurs!? It's mid-engined and French, people!

Confession: I've never really like Lamborghinis. Even as a child, I lusted more for a 308, Testarossa, or 928 than for a Countach. They've always seemed too overwrought and ostentatious for me. Even though the Jalpa really isn't ridiculously styled, I still had to go with the 308 here.

There's no easy way out. There's no shortcut hooo-ooome!

@Heep: And once again, the comments lean towards the Lancia, the poll does not. Oh well.

Purpose built race cars should not be contorted to look like caricatures of road cars. I can't believe the ACO wants to do this to the beautiful LMP1 class. I mean, not to stereotype, but aren't these guys French, and therefore possessed of superior aesthetic sense? Can they not see the inherent beauty in this,

Damn. That's been killing me all morning. I actually went through a few of those suspects (notably, the Comet and Polara), and thought it might be a mid-70's Javelin as well. These are fun, but frustrating.

Is there something in my profile I can set to always vote for the Packard in these things?

Dear Six People Who Voted No:

Two things: First, that's one nice Cougar, although as far as whether any car had rear bodywork quite like this, the buttresses seem sort of Jag XJS-ish. The next time I see an XJS owner, I'm going to try to convince him that the styling of his car was inspired by the Fat Elvis '73 Cougar, just to piss him off.

I have to go with the Rover. You might not see another Biscayne hearse on the road, but you might see another hearse. You're not going to see another Rover.

Actually, check that—it was because they were able to use their left hand to start the car and their right to engage first gear. Either way, still awesome.

Smokey Yunick is always good for a story. My favorite bit of NASCAR trivia is that David Pearson used to chain smoke in the car once he had enough of a lead.

First of all, +1 to Bertha Benz being sexy as hell.

Disclaimer: Before acting upon any movie that I enthusiastically endorse, bear in mind that my screen name is Cobra reference, and that I have a Captain Chaos avatar.
