To be fair, those were carts, which were expensive to produce. Sega had similar prices. Modern prices are just nintendo being greedy.

They shipped a product they KNEW didn’t work. They purposely prevented reviewers from seeing X1/ps4 footage despite those being the consoles it was announced for. They also said the last gen versions ran ‘surprisingly well’.

Apparently it is trivially easy to turn a series S console into an emulation box. It can run basically everything up to ps2 with little trouble.

IIRC that was the plan all along. When it was unveiled Phil mentioned that microsoft expect series S sales to eventually account for the majority of xbox sales, as much of the mas market doesn’t really care about 120fps and ay tracing and will just want a small, affordable box to play games on.

It would have bee a much better movie if everyone played their role happier and with their mouth open.

There are legions of sony fanboys on twitter who have been arguing not just that 70 dollar games are acceptible, but that sony is a better company for charging that much.

LOL, nobody is forcing publishers to put games on gamepass. They get paid upfront. And there are plenty of devs who have gone on the record for how good gamepass is for their business.
