When I was in grad school, an undergrad friend used to dress in fairly frumpy, androgynous, and often bulky clothes. I never thought much about it at the time. I just figured it was her style. Even the couple times when I saw her dressed in a more feminine way away from campus, I still didn’t think much about it,

I really like her esthetic and the thought behind it. As a kid I was sexualized as soon as I developed and it KILLED my motivation, joy, pride... and honestly my general zest for life. I love that she is in control of her visual identity and doing it in such a bold way and unusual way.

If he had said that yes, with 20/20 hindsight, he was wrong to oppose busing in the way that he did, this issue would largely be dead. Public figures (& companies) should never underestimate the value of a good, well-timed, sincere apology.

That’s also not a sound attack from the man who wrote the Crime Bill. He may not have physically prosecuted people, but his part in the Crime Bill almost definitely put more people unjustly behind bars than Harris could as an individual prosecutor and AG.

Yes - you can be a good prosecutor or a bad prosecutor, but "being a prosecutor" is a job we need in order to have a functioning criminal justice system, and someone RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT should know that.

She is the Jill Stein for a new generation.

This is one of the main reasons I started paying attention to Harris. Nearly a decade ago, I ran across and picked up her book Smart On Crime, and really liked how unlike so many prosecuters, she worked to actually reduce crime, instead of just fluffing her conviction rate.

I’m a bit biased, as I’ve been a bit of a Harris fan for nearly a decade now. What she may lack in experience or fame, I believe she easily makes up in her ability to just straight-up handle people in direct communication. I think this was abundantly clear in any of her Senate hearings, and while those aren’t watched

Gillibrand’s message is empty. Other than that I agree. Harris just has to choose a VP that proves she’s not a cop anymore.

“I was a public defender. I didn’t become a prosecutor,” he said.

Joe: “My time’s up”

And then Joe said “My Time’s Up” which I see as foreshadowing.  Yeah, Joe, your time’s up.

Jim Crow survived for so long because of “local control!” How did he not know or care about that?

This is how a lot of people described Ron Paul- sane, maybe even a bit refreshing for 30 seconds then a sharp right off a cliff and free fall to Crazy Town

The second half of that interaction, wherein he valiantly tried to equivocate support for a state’s right to choose whether it would or would not create bussing policies with actual support for bussing policies, and then shut down and literally ceded the rest of his time because he couldn’t come up with a good way to

I didn’t oppose bussing. What I opposed is busing ordered by the Department of Education...because racists everywhere, including my constituents and my bros in the Senate, proactively worked towards segregation so the federal government had to get involved to uphold the law because as we all know racists everywhere

This tweet wins everything. I’m dying here.

It started off as a “Right on, sister! Preach!!” for the first few seconds and then it made a screeching right turn into crazy-town. By the time she was done with her first sound bite, I was all:

Technically facial structure, etc is determined by whatever puberty you undergo as a child. Hormones. Those changes aren’t reversed by hormone therapy, but if someone is able to medically transition before undergoing puberty and thus has the “correct” hormones in their body when that happens, they will have bone

When you release your art into the world, it’s no longer yours. (at least, in the interpretive sense)
