These parent’s attitudes are what leads young women to think they don’t matter or that they deserve to be verbally or physically/sexually abused because they are not taught to fight back when things seem uncomfortable to them.

Hell yes she does. if you want to get pissed off, check out the mom comments on the insta. A LOT of parents claiming she has no right and is “copping an attitude”, and that kids don’t get a say ever which is super gross and concerning. Teach kids how to set boundaries, not roll over to authority. ugh.
Apple Martin has every right to tell her mom to take a fucking seat and stop posting pictures of her on social media. She’s 14 years old.
My question is why wasn’t she and her sister asking why they were suddenly taking pictures in front of specific boats so her parents could lie and say they were on the rowing team in HS?
She wanted to go to Arizona State because party school, but said long before this scandal she didn’t want to go to school at all. There’s video of this. Her parents said no, you’re going to USC, so that’s what she did. I think we need to be a little more gentle on these kids. If you don’t think so, go check out…
on a unconventional materials challenge.
I really do think I would have less sympathy if she hadn’t expressed before this all came out that she didn’t want to go to college in the first place. But it seems she was pushed into it by overbearing parents and is now suffering the loss of the career she actually wanted. Privilege or not, that sucks on a human…
Your comment reminded me of this adorable comic:
I wish our culture didn’t shove every kid into college right away. I was an individual who wasn’t ready. Leaving for college came with very little knowledge of myself. I was that kid who was deeply imbedded in a toxic best friend relationship that weakened and I eventually broke off during this phase. I became…
the greek freak, in athletic chic, found her artwork to be on fleek and rather unique, and said so, from behind his table made of teak, which caused a tear to run down her check.
Yeah, as a fellow Old, my position is pretty similar, if proceeding from a slightly different place.
I mean, even if she knew what they were doing she likely didn’t have much choice in the matter. I wouldn’t expect someone who grew up with overbearing parents, never having to fend for herself to be able to have the skills or knowledge to just say “fuck you mom and dad”, pack and her bags, and leave to get a fresh…
Well she was definitely complicit. But my guess is that she told her parents that she didn’t want to go to college (in that most annoying, whiny, unconvincing teenage way) and they didn’t listen. So she went along with the plan figuring it would get her parents off her case and she could do what she wanted with her…
Can we get to the real story here? That fugly tangled seatbelt dress she’s wearing?
Well, she kind of had to. Otherwise it would have been the little girl and Giannis from the waist down, which would be some strange cropping. Would have been funny to watch her try and back up out of the room to get it in landscape though.
From the reports on many of her videos, her parents were right. She was a bum student that needed the help only money and privilege can acquire to get her into anything north of a for profit trade school. For her next act, she should team up with Chet Haze and Bhad Bhabie to do a mixed tape and announce a college tour.
Yeah, it’s great he likes it, but...why does he like it? What works well about the composition? What doesn’t? I’m not surprised the girl cried—This isn’t useful critique.
devil’s advocate: what 19 year old reads emails from their mother?
20 seconds in when Giannis gets up to hug the girl, the one cop gets all jittery like he’s going to have to shoot someone.
I’m just not sure that there are enough armed cops at that obviously volatile event.
