I kind of have to respectfully disagree. Saldana is mediocre. However, as written Lt Uhura in the films is three dimensional and nuanced in a way that the original was not (that is not a dig against Nichelle Nichols who gave the character as much depth as she could, considering). Plus, even better Saldana and Zachory…

I just do not like her. She’s Black when it suits her (Lt Uhura and Nina Simone), but otherwise she can’t be bothered. Plus, her mediocrity and insincerity in her work just bothers me. There’s nothing there.

Don’t look at me, I’ve been pointing out Saldana is a no-talent idiot since before Avatar. She was a flash in the pan that somehow parlayed her moment into getting horribly miscast as a sci-fi icon (Uhura), and it stuck.
