The eyes aren't exclusively a characteristic of the witchers. The mutations affect each witcher differently. I think Geralt's white hair was affected by his mutations along with the color of his eyes. Letho... just randomly has those eyes from mutations. I never read the books, and the second game never mentions…

They're both Witchers. They do have a history. If you're interested enough, I suggest you give the games/a try. There are also books on the franchise if you're into more reading.

I don't remember that well since this was about 8 years ago and I believe I had Steam way before Half-Life 2's release, but I do remember that I've never had such frustrations with Steam back then as I did with Origin not to long ago. In my opinion, I love that fact that it's a simple game that requires some degree of skill and anyone can pick up&play. No perks, no killstreaks, no aim assist. Just you and your mouse pretending to be a gun.
