I would never comment on an article celebrating Latinos for being prominently featured on a main-stream magazine cover to complain about the fact that there aren't enough black people featured. I would have too much respect for that accomplishment and what it means for all of us (minorities). This is not the time of

Well I don't think Sandra is Daniel Day Lewis but she shows more variety than Julia. Does not constantly repeat the same mannerisms in every role. SCREAM LOVE me for every part she plays. And again she just seems like an all round better person so we root for her. Did she deserve an Oscar for Blind Side? No but I can

In every role Julia has a go to bag of tricks. The throw back head and laugh. She's a no nonsense woman -but really just a girl looking for a guy- to love. BLAAAG. She also usually her celebrity poorly. Wearing a t-shirt to humiliate the wife of your boyfriend truly "a low Julia". Also admittedly very rude to

I'm interested in this - are you British? I've seen a few comments (and I agree with them) that British English, the "dry wit" spoken of, and a lot of BC's comments just don't translate because we simply have different ways of speaking the language. Not having a lot of experience with Brits other than online, it seems

"He is not relevant in my real life or even in my online life."

I keep remembering seeing Jerry O'Connell (the chubby kid from Stand By Me being his most notable role) on a late night talk show, relating a story about how he accidentally opened a New Year's tab in a bar and ended up basically paying for everyone in the bar to drink that night. This is a guy who hadn't worked on

Yeah, Melonie Diaz was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award—surely she coulda cancelled out someone on here. An Asian could be nice some year, too. And how's about an older woman with wrinkles just once? Diversity is the problem, not just b/w issues.

Hey, Tumblr's a perfectly valid reference point, just like Wikipedia! (said no one in a teaching position ever)

The problem is to interpret that Tumblr, I have to click on every single link and usually either scroll through an interview or sit through a video. And 90 percent of the time my conclusion is either "wow, they're taking that way out of context" or "oh, okay, that was a joke that didn't quite come across in print."

..ok? I feel like you have some sort of ax to grind with BC stans. Regardless, having gone to to link and read the excerpts....yup, its exactly what I thought. Unless you are well versed in the perpetual outrage machine that is tumblr, the referenced quotes are fairly inoffensive and utterly unremarkable.

He constantly complains that people are "posh baiting" him. I'm sorry but he is privileged and complaining that people are not always 100% nice about that privilege really fucks me off.

It isnt the same thing at all. Openess shouldnt be interpreted as caring and affection. It should be interpreted as friendship. And you cannot cuckold someone unless you are married tothem. Why is it impossible for a man to take the friendship offered, add the girl to a list of friends and look elsewhere for romance?

two of your three paragraphs from your first comment specifically refer to bieber. so you were talking about him.

You're really hanging onto this one with your pointy Canadian ice-teeth.

Oh FFS... He was about as far from the Canadian border as you can get in the continental US. He was also mixing booze with prescription drugs. If you want to claim US drinking laws are fascistic, you need a better poster boy.

If the media cannot respect the hallowed sanctity of a Vogue cover shoot, was feminism even worth the struggle???

That article was huge and landmark in pointing out the issues with photoshop. It started a dialogue and that was crucial. It brought a lot of people to this site, people who have been devotees ever since. We all know this now though. You did a great job showing us (the photoshop of horrors series was always great).

Here's a vital conversation to have: where should we draw the line at doing asshole things because those asshole things "create a conversation"?

And furthermore, polite gestures have obligations attached to them. Wish I had £1 for every guy that *treated me like a human* and wanted sex in return for it.
