That Tesla doesn’t look like it hit something at 60mph. It may have been initially traveling at that speed, but it most certainly was moving much more slowly at the point of impact. I’d still expect the airbags to deploy based on the damage I see but who knows? If the occupants emerged fairly unscathed the airbags

Nonsense. In the 90s most American sedans occupied the same exact space as these crossovers do today: boring, uninspired and undesirable. They were big appliances that suffered the stigma of bad reliability from the 70s. Now here we are in 2021 and those cars have become collectible.

The old “I meant to do that” defense. The guy is overcompensating for doing something embarrassing, stupid and running out of skill. He sounds like the kind of inept asshole who slides all over the track and claims to be beat people who are simply trying to avoid getting hit by him.

Self-healing grille... Leave it to the Germans to squander resources on something that offers virtually no benefit in real world scenarios and will make repairs massively more expensive.

I assume Ford is going to have a third party do the actual windshield re-install given that dealers never actually replace windshields themselves. Not that dealers would do a better job but I’ve never seen a windshield replacement that wasn’t crap. If they don’t misalign the glass then they reinstall plastic trim incor

Photos don’t do the Supra justice; it looks great in person. I say this as someone who has no interest in the car, especially because it’s just a BMW.

Software sucks because of incompetent management. There are two problems I’ve seen arise time and time again...

I’m sure sales figures indicate they’re desirable, otherwise automakers wouldn’t bother with them. Anecdotally, I’ve noticed that people even bitch when a particular model isn’t available with a sunroof. I personally don’t get the appeal, but I guess consumers need to waste their money on something.

If the badges were missing I could easily mistake this for a Honda EV. Not because this car is unattractive, but because the front end has styling elements that evoke those brands more than it does Mercedes.

Maybe it will look better in person, but in these pics it looks like a crossover.

This hatchback already looks like an SUV. It’s just missing the lifted suspension and black trim.

Insane value would be under $20k. The base Corolla and Elantra are better values, but the LX sedan is decent. $24k is typical for cars in this class and dealer BS will only push the price higher.

Clearing codes doesn’t work unless the issue is sporadic enough that you can drive a good distance without the car throwing a CEL.

Exposing clients and consumers to the iterative process is about the worst thing you could possibly do. It’s counterproductive because not only does it provide no insight, but actually encourages unrealistic expectations. Every step further trivializes work because you’re repeatedly giving the client the opportunity

Isn’t it already illegal to trade in stolen goods? A new regulation will be yet another thing the authorities can’t be bothered to enforce. In a lot of American cities anything that doesn’t involve violent crime or blatant theft, where the offender is caught in the act, is generally ignored.

Foxconn is Taiwanese, not Chinese. You’d think the people at Reuters would do basic due diligence. It’s an important distinction because of how the Chinese media handles them compared to Chinese-owned companies.

Thieves don’t know how to drive manual.

Over the years I’ve seen a lot of idiots suckered into ticking time bombs like these only to get hit with repairs they can’t afford.

I just saw one of these on the road and was amused by how the LEDs make the car look like its sad.

The police complaint is a weird one. I agree that they’re contentious pricks who bristle at the mere hint that their authority is being undermined. That said, the problem in my area, and I imagine most American cities, is that there’s virtually no traffic enforcement whatsoever. If it doesn’t involve violent crime cops
