Ford’s decision is idiotic because it’s a response to current market trends and isn’t forward-looking at all. It’s the same kind of strategy that screwed over GM in 2008.

Wow... That is more annoying than I expected. If you’re going to use a little melody it’s got to be less obtrusive than that.

A car’s position in the lineup is irrelevant, base price is the basis for comparison. The cars you mention start at $14k to $15k; the Impreza is nearly $19k. There are plenty of good cars in that price range.

This guy is a scumbag. There may be legitimate problems with how municipalities handle parking, but that in no way justifies flouting the law. If this guy is unhappy with the parking situation then it’s his responsibility to let the city know.

I’d argue that the Mustang is much better proportioned.

You’d think something like a driveshaft would be overbuilt. I can’t help but conclude that this is value engineering, planned obsolescence to reduce the number of M3/M4s in the used car market. It’s the sort of thing that would scare off anyone but the most dedicated buyers willing and able to spend what it takes to

not enough oomph getting on highways and it scared her

At least the car looks like it’s smiling which is a welcome change from all the angry scowls out there.

I was expecting a lurid drift, burnout or full throttle launch, especially given that guy’s pent up rage. I almost laughed out loud as the Mustang languidly pulled away. It’s like the ad agency was anticipating complaints.

I had an 06 Audi A3 for 10 years that was more reliable than the Honda Prelude I had owned previously. It turns out I hit a sweet spot; the car had been available in Europe for a few years so the kinks had largely been ironed out. Then in 07 VW made some changes in the manufacture of the DSG that resulted in

I agree that there are far too many people hoarding wealth but that doesn’t excuse people from making stupid financial decisions. There are a lot of factors in play, but people do, by and large, screw themselves.

It would be nice to see other automakers take Tesla’s modern approach to software and provide regular updates. Instead it seems like they’re pressured by dealers to never provide updates so that consumers are incentivized to buy new models.

I love wagons but this looks pretty stupid.

The problem with Americans is that they think socialized healthcare means the same level of service, but for free. While I 100% support it there will be a ton of compromises for which I doubt Americans are prepared.

I generally walk the full path because I’m there to peruse anyway. Although, I take all the shortcuts when there’s something specific I’m there to buy.

That’s a fantastic gauge cluster; I love how neatly placed everything is. It’s refreshing to see the warning lights all organized instead of randomly scattered within the gauges.

The reason that the average sale price is so high is because consumers are buying BMWs instead of Corollas so that they can keep impressing coworkers and neighbors.

To be honest, that also sounds like most American cities.

I only have vague memories of riding in cars with windows like these, but I recall them not being particularly durable and generating a lot of wind noise.

Even new cars have warnings against using more than 15% ethanol and that’s concerning. I’m not comfortable with running fuel that bumps right up against the recommended limit. I’d like to think that ethanol has been around long enough that automakers have improved reliability, but I’m not so confident.
