That’s because construction in the United States is far more expensive than anywhere else in the world. Then you’ve got communities that fear any potential impact on quality of life and property values. Adding to the pile are inept state governments that are incapable of taking decisive action and instead waste money

Incredible video, but ignoring the fantastic soundtrack, the pace at which those cars get around the track reminds me of Formula E.

Fortunately, I got my iPhone X through my company. If I had paid for it myself I would have definitely had buyer’s remorse. That’s not to suggest it’s a bad phone, but simply that it’s not worth $1,000. The experience is fundamentally no different than what I had with my iPhone 7.

I can’t help but think this is just some wealthy guys trying to find justification for their toys. Maybe they’ll get a nice tax deduction out of it. Which is fine I guess.

I guess the era of $1,000 smartphones is truly upon us. I would have expected a gradual rise, not an immediate $300 - $400 jump.

I’ve always been ambivalent to the Jeep. It’s a cool, honest vehicle that offers the kind of accessibility and serviceability most cars should have. At the same time, aspects of Jeep culture remind me of Harley Davidson. Too many owners come off like they’re over-compensating. They’re either going for tacticool or

That one time you actually used all the space your SUV offered is not a particularly good justification for owning one. You could always rent a van if you really needed the cargo capacity.

It depends on the day of the week:

It’s a labor intensive process that requires precisely machining steel molds. There are a bunch of factors that go into injection molding that make it complicated. Also, while molds do wear out they generally can be used for quite a long time so that probably factors into the cost as well.

No one is complaining because even if some aesthetic decisions are questionable, the quality of the work is undeniable. This isn’t like the half-assed tuner garbage we’re much more likely to see here in the states.

The problem is that none of that has been solved. Or, more accurately, the Germans keep finding new ways of creating problems for themselves. It isn’t just the complexity but the incessant and frequent redesigns of every major component. Buy a new generation early in it’s life cycle, and it’s a near certainty you’ll

Certain Star Wars designs are iconic, and I can certainly understand why they’d stick to a particular look. At the same time, it all does look overly derivative.

If history has taught us anything it’s this: same shit, different flies.

The way people talk you’d think it’s like Mad Max out on the roads with everyone, including soccer moms and the elderly, mashing the throttle the instant a light turns green. You’d think other drivers had nothing better to do but to block your every attempt to pass with their high horsepower cars.

This has nothing to do with predicting the future; in the long term the stock market ALWAYS goes up. Of course, the risk is higher if you’re investing in individual companies, but that’s why you invest in something like an ETF.

Making cars is hard. The difference here is that GM is a 110 year old company with a wide portfolio of models from which they can pull a platform to convert to electric. They didn’t have to start from the ground up and were able to focus on the drivetrain. And even then, they produced something that’s more economy

I never gave knuckle cracking any thought. Unfortunately, I now have an office mate who cracks his knuckles every 20-30 minutes and after a while it does get fucking annoying.

Having originally lived under the Scion brand it was marketed as a sporty vehicle. Unfortunately, it was stuck with the same under-powered engine as the Corolla. I quite like how the iM looks, but it really is nothing more than a Corolla in hatchback form.

I wouldn’t touch a car with this engine for a good 5-10 years. This sounds like a reliability nightmare waiting to happen.

You seem intent on challenging others without having any data to back your argument. Have you found stats for fatalities per distance traveled? That’s probably the best way to compare Tesla’s safety record versus regular cars.
