We have every right to criticize because we’re the ones paying to watch these movies.

I suppose as an experiment this book is interesting, although it seems like an unreasonable amount of effort for a book that simply dwells on sleeping and incorporates hypnotic suggestion. I can’t imagine it being effective more than a handful of times, because it doesn’t seem like the sort of book anyone will want to…
This is why companies lay people off, outsource labor and keep incomes stagnant. Corporate executives have to sustain their upper class lifestyles somehow.
I agree with you in principle. But did your dad also have mobile phones for the entire family, multiple TV sets, more than one car, various subscription services for TV and internet and generally just spent more on non-essentials?
This is the problem with big data. It sounds great and companies are trying to base vital decisions on that data. However, all too often the data is nonsense, or too limited in scope, and is far to easy to manipulate.
I was wondering about this recently. The magazine feeds right into the flywheels, so basically all you need to do is remove the little door that blocks the next ball.
In Connecticut inspections are little more than a revenue generating scheme for the state. Once a car is 3 years old it requires an emissions inspection. They’re supposed to inspect the rest of the car, but all they do is plug in a computer and or shove a sensor up the tailpipe. Less scrupulous shops do have a…
If Detroit had a vibrant, thriving economy this thing would have made total sense. The problem in America is that these projects get funded on a city’s downward slide in a vain attempt to turn things around. Of course those economic problems, coupled with municipal incompetence and corruption result in a project…
I’m pretty sure porn drives these trends. The industry popularizes some technique, a bunch of guys decide they want to try it in real life, and thanks to herd mentality it eventually turns into a thing. And some of it is likely just people trying to boast about their supposedly active sex lives.
Ask yourself this question: If Hillary had an “R” after her name instead of a “D” would you be defending her like this? Because if you wouldn’t then, I hate to say, but you’re part of the problem.
I’ve liked Miatas for a long time, but my day doesn’t brighten when I see one. Now that they’ve turned into the cool car to own they’re actually getting a bit obnoxious. Owners take themselves too seriously, modding their cars like they’re perpetually on the way back from an autocross meet.
Superficially it might seem absurd, but I’ve long been convinced that MMOs provide a great environment for gleaning insight into human society. For one, developers build worlds that try to be as fair as possible for all players, and they’re perpetually engaged in maintaining that, and yet disparity inevitably arises.…
I agree with you, but the problem is far, far larger than this deal. The FCC did demand more educational programming on network television years ago, but all that did was kill Saturday morning cartoons. In the end it made no difference because most people subscribe to cable television, and increasingly online…
The thing you fail to realize is that South Korea and Taiwan were never quite like China. It wasn’t perfect, but they never created environmental nightmares on the scale we see in China. And even in those early days there was already momentum towards better environmetnal and safety standards.
Do the creators of this device even have children? Who in their right mind would keep a baby out of sight for extended periods of time? Sure, 99 times out of 100 nothing bad happens, but nobody wants to be the one.
The old VW Beetle? It even got its own movies.
They’re starting to hit stores but it’s still tough to find them. Target has been showing them in stock at many locations but they’re not on the shelves. You pretty much have to get an employee to check in the back.
No car on this list elicits actual revulsion like the Mirai. That car looks so horrible it should occupy all 10 spots.
Lego used to be quite good about maintaining availability. I don’t remember ever seeing a set sold out. Unfortunately the Ideas sets changed all that. I’m not sure why Lego doesn’t boost production to meet demand. It took something like 6 months but they eventually did it with the Exo-suit.
You’re wrong on all counts. I don’t think any of those have awkward proportions. The one thing I will say about the Cube is that from some angles the rear bumper area has a weird droop to it. You can kind of see it the photo, but it’s not too obvious.
