Ranked games are obviously more important than unranked, but I still think going AFK in an unranked game is pretty bad. When you go AFK you screw up the game for everyone. If I only have the time to play one or two games I'm gonna be pretty pissed off if my time is wasted because someone quits halfway through.

The way

While I agree with the other commentators that the tone of that rant isn't great, I can 100% relate to the frustration with toxicity underlying it.

I just got out of a game Smite where dying one time resulted in getting flamed by both my teammates, then one attacked the other for flaming me and the whole thing turned

Now playing

But seriously. I was pretty sure I was done with CK2 but this sounds like exactly what I want from an expansion. I think I see a relapse into addiction in my near future.

Cool, hope you like it! It's not perfect, but I think it's definitely worth playing.

The tragic aspect of DA2 really is kinda brilliant. Hawke is built up as being incredibly capable at pulling desperate situations back from the brink and the fact that you are ultimately completely unable to do that was shocking. Particularly because of where the responsibility for the final crises lies.

I really wish

I'd say it all depends on what you are looking to get out of the game. If the old school tactical combat was 99% of what made you like DA:O than you might not want to go back*, but if you are more into it for the story I think DA2 does some really interesting things that makes it absolutely worth playing.

Some of it

Yeah I did that, which helped keep her alive long enough to hit whatever level it is that gives the +100 defense active ability, which makes her pretty amazing.

One thing that I really liked about the trailer is that what you are saying about games being to serious and lacking youthful fun is built into the older brothers arc.

He starts out pointedly disinterested with everything but his encounter with the overwatch people reverts him back to a childlike sense of wonder

Did you catch the Hearthstone reference in the cinematic trailer? The security guard is playing it instead of noticing the massive fight breaking out in the museum.

I got a kick out of it.

It's still better than teaching your friend to play and then watching them BEND YOUR CARDS right in front of you!

And then you don't even say anything because you feel like that would make you seem like a crazy person. (I feel like a lot of people who play cardgames have this problem).

It takes a while to fully grasp how to take advantage of the game mechanics, but once you understand them it's pretty manageable*. So it's not like FTL where you can have a good grasp on the mechanics and still get screwed because you didn't get the upgrades you need or had bad luck.

*(although to be fair I haven't

I have a really hard time understanding your perspective. My favorite games site is RPS (sorry Kotaku), which is one of the most "SJW" games site out there and only like 1% of their coverage has anything to do with misogyny or feminism or whatever.

How is that ruining games coverage for anyone? Hell if John Walker's

Widowmaker is the only character wearing a catsuit fortunately. She's just getting put front and center in the article because she is an obvious example of Blizzard doing the opposite of what they are claiming to do.

But aside from her I think Blizzard is doing a pretty good job. Mercy's form fitting armor and

I feel like you are getting too worked up over someone making a joke about sexy gorillas.

DOTA has conditioned me not to mind having nonsensical team composition, but it is definitely a little weird that there are only two villains. Particularly because Reaper doesn't really have a backstory and Widowmaker is brainwashed, so we don't really understand their motivation at all.

So we've got 10 people who

Agreed, my favorite thing about fighting games and stuff like DOTA is the feeling of learning a new character, particularly if they have a lot of personality.

I'm liking the look of Hanzo and Tracer a lot, just because I'm a sucker for high mobility characters, so blinks and wall-climbing is right up my alley. I'm also

Most of the Q abilities look overpowered, but it looks like you need to build some sort of meter to actually use them. So it's not like Reaper is going to be death blossoming all them time. (That said having a teleport and a kill everyone near me button is pretty crazy).

Absolutely. I played a fair amount in the very early days of early access and Sarah Numas basically carried me through to the end (the insect guy was also pretty great). Her move speed adds so much utility, particularly if are forced into letting multiple fronts develop and need reinforcements ASAP.

It's a heck of a good game.

The only downside is that I am unable to resist picking the blatant Samus homage every single game and then I inevitably rage quit when she dies.

I agree that the combat is quite poor. But that's the case for 99.9% of 4X games*, so I can't really hold it against Amplitude. Especially because everything else about it is so good.

I'm also really enjoying the continuity between games. I love the idea of my team from Dungeon of the Endless starting a society that I
