Probably not, it would keep going forward and be afraid to stop.

I like all of these ideas, but with the addition of placing oil-slicks or soapy booby traps to reduce the autocars' traction. I would hope then that the car would sense continued motion in the wrong direction and increase throttle, like a panicky animal on ice. Hilarity ensues.
