I would love to use Swiftkey on my iPad but they still haven't bothered to add the Flow feature (tracing the letters to type words) to that version yet, so I'm still stock.

I would totally do this if it were a little cheaper. It would be a fun project, but I can't justify $75. I'll have to do some more research to see if I could source things for less.

It's hard not to see the "internet of things" as much more than companies trying to create markets. I think a few things will get created that prove to be useful as internet-connected things, but many of them will fade into obscurity after the initial cool factor wears off. I haven't met a person yet that still loved

I've always been a night owl. My mom loves to tell the story of how she finally stopped battling me about bed time as a kid and had me put her to bed and let me stay up as long as I stayed in my room. I wonder if night owls are more likely to be introverts (or vice versa), as I am definitely an introvert (using the

Ack, sorry for not seeing this before. I don't check the comments very often. I started with this article, and then used Google to deal with any issues that came up.

I really like the idea of these in-wall USB port outlets, but I need a solution to lock the USB cable to the outlet - otherwise my wife and son wander off with them and it becomes a never-ending game of "who's got the USB cord". Anyone have a solution for that?

Wouldn't this article be more accurately titled, "Connect Any External USB Microphone to your iPhone with a Powered USB Hub"? or am I missing something? You would obviously have to factor in the cost of an XLR-to-USB adapter if that's the kind of mic you were using.

My last two phones have been Android, as is my current one and I love them, but, as others have stated, there are hardly any serious music making apps to be had from the Play store. Here's a presentation, albeit a year old, that presents some good info on why there is a lack of solid music making apps for Android

$14.99 for iPad iOS 7 and up. This is currently as close as you can get to "real feel" drum sequencing on a mobile platform. It's a fairly new app and the interface could be friendlier but it's an incredibly powerful app. It includes a few kits and you can load your own utilizing multiple velocity samples and even

I do think there's only so far I will go as a parent with technology solutions. If my kid starts to able to find his way around them, then I do give him credit for learning those tech skills ... but I also make it clear that circumventing restrictions also has consequences.

We've been through several iterations of figuring out our tolerance as parents and the effectiveness of various parental control options (Windows Family Safety, Net Nanny). A few months ago I completed a project to setup a router running Tomato and creating a separate wireless network for our son that is forced to use

I just wanted to comment to extend a deep and sincere thank you for the straightforward headline. I have been steadfastly removing sites from my feedly list that use those ridiculous clickbaiting headlines (you won't believe what happens next!). And if you can believe this, even though you gave away the conclusion in

As with most questions that start flame wars, the question itself is inaccurate. The decision to have/raise children is a very individual one and can only be effectively evaluated from that perspective. There is no possible way one person could know whether it is better for any other person to have/raise or not

I personally know one man and one woman - they are not a couple and don't know each other - who each chose to adopt children as single people. They receive no financial aid from another individual or the government from that matter.

I'm trying to figure out if I can just upgrade the mother boards, processors and RAM in my two desktops that currently run XP. Any tips on good resources to figure out which parts will fit my cases and whether it's more cost effective to do this, or to just buy new machines?

Sorry to ramble, but I wanted to add one more thing along the "you will suck" vein. It can be very empowering to just accept where you are and be ok with it. I'm a decent guitar player, but there are thousands or maybe tens of thousands (or more) much better than me. However, I wouldn't be afraid to sit down with any

I think it's also important to take the time to think about exactly what you want to do with music, because that will inform how/what you go about learning. Do you have a sense of what your goals are? Do you just want to be able to play some songs at home alone? Do you want to play with other people? Do you want to

I store all of my sensitive documents (most listed here) in truecrypt volumes. Right now I have all my 2013 tax documents in a truecrypt volume that I store in dropbox, so they are fairly secure and I can access them from home or work as needed.

+1 for Sidereel, though getting them to update a link for a show is a major pain, and they aren't a Netflix partner (anymore) so they don't monitor that availability.
