Actually there's nothing about Mary Magdalene being a prostitute in the Bible at all. It was solely a later tradition (like, centuries later) that grew up around her, based mainly on extrapolation from other unnamed women who appear in the gospels (e.g. the woman caught in adultery, which is still not prostitution!).
