I begrudgingly give you a star, because you do make a valid point. But I hate gendered book covers with a firey passion. But you have a point.

Before the Internet, there was nothing but darkness.

I was recently unpleasantly surprised at 5am one morning to find that Frontier was suddenly charging for carry-on bags. Apparently they've been doing this since April, but there was no mention of it when I booked my flight through Priceline. So, given the option between paying $35 for a carry-on and $25 for checking

Right? I got a very distinct sense of defiance and "fuck you" from this picture.

PRE-INTERNET? NO, SURELY NOT. NO ONE WAS ALIVE THEN!

Political ads need to go die in a fire. I live in one of the hotbed states and OMG THE ADS.

This. This is good. I think that's a really strong line of reasoning that I hadn't considered, and I was ready to be in the "roll my eyes at the super-gullible idiots" camp. A star for you.

I've written a few reviews on TripAdvisor. I'd never really heard of it until a year or two ago, I'd stayed at a historic boutique hotel that had just reopened and they had little cards at their front desk and were encouraging people to leave reviews there to help them get word out. I really only review places I like,

I want to give this all the stars forever.

BEHOLD THE POWER OF MARKETING! Sigh.

I'm hoping it's just a phase I'm going through. If I never recapture it then I will be absolutely heartbroken forever.

I am the same! I love reading, I do... and I keep buying books... but I have zero focus. I get like three pages in and my attention span starts to wander. It's terrible and it makes me sad.

Ughhh, that sounds awful. The only positive point to all of this that I can see is that with Kate being so high-profile, maybe more outlets will label the illness properly and raise some awareness of it, so when "regular people" are suffering from it, people will be more sympathetic. "Oh, HG, yes, that's the thing

I don't think it's a "refusal to give a nation independence" so much as it is that nation deciding whether or not they want to be independent. Sounds like there are a lot of economic ramifications that could come about which is why it's not a black-and-white "duh of course they should get their independence!" stance.

Ah, yes. My favorite was the time I was called "disrespectful" for mentioning white male privilege. HOW DARE I?!

I have never seen Girls (it's in my queue?) but that totally sounds like me. Can I declare myself a Marnie without actually knowing any context other than your comment?

Because we are all in denial that the 90s were 20 years ago. Shhh!

I tried that with my cat, but she does not know how to cat. She might sniff it and then she will wander away. No sense of imagination at all.

Not to worry! There are still wrapping paper tubes. Which, IMO, would make better lightsabers and swords etc anyway because they are already the proper length.

Ha!
