Yes what he did was wrong, but let's all focus instead on what the woman did wrong in this situation, because that's more important. Yes violence and abuse are bad, blah blah blah, but road etiquette is a more serious and pressing issue. This woman had the nerve to cut off a man? Who does she think she is? Personally

I don't understand, emojis are already pretty diverse. When I want to use a normal, everyday face, I use a "normal" (white) face. When I want to convey something exotic, there's a man in a turban, for example. Isn't that what diversity is? (/sarcasm)

A few years ago I was telling my boyfriend that I'm worried afraid of being raped by a police officer, and some other guys overheard me and started laughing, like it was such a crazy thing to worry about. I feel like some men really don't get what the world is like for women at all. They think that rape only happens

If they really wanted her, they could have counter-offered with a higher salary or other benefits for example. But they didn't even need to bother negotiating because there were so many other applicants waiting in line, jumping at the first chance to get any offer at all, even if it didn't meet all their needs. That's

This also shows how little bargaining power employees have these days. They can't negotiate for better terms as equals, because getting a job offer is like winning a lottery ticket.

The real solution is that colleges need more money. They need to increase their budgets, even more past inflation than they already do.

A belief in inherent, "normal" gender roles can't be reconciled with the basic point of feminism, which is women's equal treatment and equal place in society. But maybe we can continue this discussion later in a separate post?

Your opinion is that someone can believe in inherent gender roles and not be a sexist? That is a very hard opinion for me to understand.

The man's comments seem appropriate when you consider that they've been friends for a long time, and he's very familiar with the other man's marriage. Anyway I appreciate that you're sensitive to the larger political context in France, and it seems like you agree that there's still a place for feminist criticism of

This video really shows how much women's bodies become the center of gender oppression. In the video, the man has to constantly deal with his body. He wants to just live in it and dress how he wants, but it's a huge liability for him. The women make comments centered around his body and threaten him for showing it.

Feminist criticism of Islam is not racism. Practically all religions and cultures in the world contain sexism, and Islam is not immune from social criticism. It reminds me of people who say that criticizing Israel is anti-semitic.

Islam is a part of French society, and so it's relevant to include feminist criticism of

Are the leg straps part of the shoe? What kind of shoe is like that? I must know!

With the attitudes and stress you'd think they were doing brain surgery or something. Why so much grief and discipline over something that is just intended to be fun and silly?

I think more people should use arbitration for these issues, especially people like freelancers, and people involved with small disputes over property etc. You can do simple online arbitration for cheap with no lawyers, and the award is legally enforceable. I imagine that a freelancer who doesn't get paid can fairly

In addition to the criticism other commenters have already pointed out, I want to add that by denying your kids the ability to explore girls' gender roles in a natural way, you are going to create an obsession with the very thing you're trying to minimize. They're going to obsess about clothes, fashion, appearance,

I'm not doing wedding colors. I don't see the point, and matchy colors don't fit my venue. Everyone keeps asking me about colors and I just tell them I'm going for "eclectic." I think that matchy colors could be good for some people, but I don't think they're necessarily good for all weddings, and it's so limiting.

This is what I use, it's better than all of the full wallet cases. I get compliments about how cool it is all of the time.
