Remind me to stop clicking on Billy Haisley's posts. What a joke.

I get that but don't include it in the presentation then if it isn't accurate. Simply say "Insufficient Data". Think of it from a decision maker's position, like a coach, If I'm a a coach and you tell me to go for it on 4th & 3 on your own 8 then proceed to tell me to go for it from 4th & 10 from the opponent's 40,

I'll concede that it's great they didn't adjust the data but that doesn't do anything to give the model more credibility. The model isn't credible. You said it yourself that there's a small data set. Small data sets = no credibility. As a decision maker, I'm not going to trust data that is insufficient. You can tell

The "4th Down Bot" lost all credibility for me at that point. There's obviously some serious flaws in the model that they were too lazy or didn't know how to fix.

Interesting but it looks like there's some serious flaws there. 4th & 3 from your own 10 = go for it but 4th & 3 from your own 15 = punt? I'm believe in going for it on 4th down as much as possible but I'd really like to see someone try and convince me that I should go for a 4th & 3 in my own redzone. Even 4th & 2

The old "whoever smelt it, dealt it" philosophy is always a safe bet.

Check out that lineup of "news" ESPN's got coming up. A-Rod, RGIII, and Winston. Good thing ESPN will be covering those 3 topics non-stop for the next 72 hours, 'cause there definitely isn't enough that could be said about them.

Couldn't agree more. This was a disappointing article. You can't use Georgia vs. Auburn or LSU vs. Kentucky to support an argument against a 3 man rush when the strategy would've worked perfectly had the defenders simply done their job and knocked the ball down.

Defensive holding on an eligible receiver can no longer happen once the ball is in the air. Even if you bring the guy down while the ball is in the air the official will not call it because officials make it a point to not call penalties that have no affect on the play unless it is a "safety concern" penalty.

You got it. The one challenge though is the late growth spurt. They can't always project that. I have seen very talented 5'10'' receivers get overlooked by the top colleges because they "didn't have the frame". Then at age 19 they developed and grew 4 or 5 inches. If that development would have come a year earlier

When it comes to colleges and the NFL, the number one thing they look at is frame. Does the player have the stature to put on the necessary mass and still maintain his athleticism? I played with several players in high school that weren't that great at the time but had the correct frame. They then went to college and

First, the NFL is cracking down on big hits away from the play. That very call was made this weekend but it's a personal foul penalty. You can't just light somebody up cause you feel like it anymore. So in essence that's going to get a flag every time just not going to be called pass interference because well they're

Why would you waste your time tackling a player who's doesn't have the ball or is not getting the ball?

The officials cannot call defensive holding once the pass is in the air, it is then deemed pass interference and a spot foul. This play was either pass interference or not.

Boone is great. I can't tell you how many times I've heard him pull out the ole "If the Jazz want to win this game they must score more than the opponent" line.

I ask because your "inside information" is likely completely out of date. The type of money that Rutgers will bring in by joining the Big 10, changes everything. Even in the last 10 years the revenue that college football has brought in has made football indispensable for just about every FBS school. There's a reason

When did you graduate?

I don't understand all the complaining about what to do. If you bought the League Pass, request a refund based on them not living up to their end of the bargain, if they're unavailable during business hours or deny your refund, call the credit card company and request a charge-back because of non-fulfillment. If

Not on a pick and roll in that situation. Bargnani must close the lane, Anthony (who took the screen) stays on the screener, and Carrol is forced to either reset the offense or pull up over Bargnani. It's really pretty basic defense.

Best part is that their excuse was "Oh, well the stadium isn't fit to last another 20-30 years". Well no shit, but it sure as hell can last another 5-10.
