I'm not debating that shouldn't have been obstruction. It should have. I'm simply stating how this, and many rules that the MLB has, is unnecessarily ambiguous. Last night's play was clearly the right call.

If it's always obstruction why do the rules state "very likely has obstructed the runner"?

I get balls and strikes need to be a judgement call but why wouldn't you have the rule be "if the fielder is in a position as a result of a baseball act he is not obstructing; however, if the fielder makes any subsequent moves that are not defined as a baseball act, obstruction is called.

"very likely has obstructed the runner" baseball's rules are a joke. It's either obstruction or not. The rules leave way too much room for the umpires to make judgement calls that don't need to be.

Don't forget about all the Anti-Cardinals paraphernalia.

Michael, Have you used iseewinners.com before? I've used them before they claim a good record but I'm not sure what to think.

With this slump buster, Rondo's on pace for one hell of a season.

The over/under is 3.5 weeks. Any takers?

Their that much of a shitshow. It is amazing to me how they can't find a QB who is at least a bit of a threat of throwing the ball downfield. That's all they need, a fucking threat, so the defenses can't put 8 in the box every play. Until they get one it'll be hard for anyone to lay down on them. Once they get behind

Thanks for putting this together. Is it also possible to pull the betting trend for the over/unders? That way I don't have to go back to V.I. to get the info.

How about losing half your fan-base in 20-25 years while the MLB is clearly not doing enough to attract the attention of younger kids. Don't get me wrong, this is a problem that can be fixed but to say this isn't a serious concern is naive.

I love October baseball as much as anybody but even you have to admit that baseball has a serious problem that needs to be addressed. With the continuous decline in fans and viewers, add that to the guaranteed contracts and lack of adaptation to what the youth want, and you get a sport that will be in serious trouble

That might explain why Aldon Smith kept his foot on the pedal after he crashed into that tree.

In all my years I've learned that games just like the Chiefs-Texans are ones that shouldn't be touched. When all signs point to one team (Kansas City in this case), I've learned the hard way that more often than not it goes the other way.

How does that matter? All those ferraris and lamborghini's athletes buy could sure help a lot of single mothers out as well. If anything respect should be given to Morris for not being nearly as superficial as most other professional athletes.

North Andover HS is now the front-runner to become BYU's new prep academy.

What do you think causes the large disparity between the number of pizza joints in general as you move west? Is it population, culture, or something entirely different?

Weird thing is the Patriots signed Austin Collie to fill the gaps, the NFL's poster-boy of being made out of duct tape and glass.

I do agree but in fairness to Peterson, there's dispute as to whether or not that is actually his child. There's no way Peterson is going to bring that up at a time like this.
