Yeah I have played Halo 1, so I understand where Cortana comes from... AND she's still annoying as hell. Maybe I'm just too used to Tomb Raider where the silence of the games adds to the monolithic experience of the levels.

I was the same way, but one day a few summer ago I was like "I need to beat this effing game!" so I sat down and beat the whole thing. Never in my life has playing a game been such a CHORE.

The Ghost in the Shell feature film was directed by Mamoru Oshii. Masamune Shirow wrote the manga and conceptualized the series. I would agree that Oshii is probably still best known in the west for GITS.

I would totally understand if you discovered that you're just not a fan of the genre. I definitely am, but sometimes I wonder why lol. I would suggest Persona 3 or 4, because the battles are extremely fast, emphasize thought and tactics, and are fun to watch.
