Ok. Lets talk priorities.

You haven't lived till you've experienced a proper Qatary summer. 130 degree's, near 100% humidity. It's so miserable, that your actually not that miserable. You're brain is just to busy being impressed by the level of awful and attempting to contemplate how on earth a human being ever came to this land and said

Given the antics that regimes like Iran and N. Korea have pulled, I'd say they've earned the ridicule they receive.

I get it. You just see human suffering as human suffering. But the reality is what it is. One is caused by mother nature, the other human nature. And being emotional and simply wishing for a simple fix (like throw money at it) doesn't fix problems.

Yet something else that Obama's administration is doing that I'm sure he personally knows nothing about. Because god forbid the president of the united states was in charge of something.

Pass

I don't see the two as remotely comparable. Societal decay, aka hunger, crime, poverty, class division, ect. is a really complex problem that is always present in any society on one level or another. Look at your own statement, "no fault of there own", which implies a reason that's not the fault of the suffers,

The idea of regulating surveillance tech is as self defeating as regulating gun ownership. You never accomplish anything by going after the tool, it's the act that requires legislation.

Sounds totally impractical to me. You'd have to have your computers regularly exposed to sunlight and everyone knows that programmers are a subterranean nocturnal people.

Right. Because we don't have enough stupid unenforceable regulations on the books as it is.

Interesting that they went w/ iOS and not Android. On the one hand, the style of this book would appeal to hipsters, but on the other, hipsters can't cook.

"Back when"

A motar requires two grunts to operate and can be deployed immediately. Drones require a pilot, a weapons/sensor guy, a ground crew, an air operations center staffed with air planning and execution personnel, and you have to call in and wait when the shit hits the fan.

"our hearts dropped, too."

If this kid grows up to be a trekky, I may die laughing.

Hardly. For example, I know of a program at UC Boulder a couple of years ago that was adapting Predator drones for use in search and rescue.

This is cool and all, but it does make me question Google's priorities. When google's paid music service came out 6+ months ago they promised an iOS app for it shortly. They've yet to release it, but now they're releasing an app on a platform only usable by a small testing community. Like I said, getting google

I'm assuming (hoping) the hunter in question had an antler-less tag and mistook it for a doe. That said, talk about a terrible shot that probably should have never been made. Either a) he/she was appropriately aiming for vitals and was way the hell off or b) was going for a head shot which is totally inappropriate.

Cool. I've wanted to tinker with these things but I'm so blind w/o my glasses there wouldn't have been much point.
