Fortunately it’s not on a regular city street.  The museum is part of a “town square” - there’s no accidentally walking past it.

Wellingtonian here - yeah, not sure.  Our $$ has gone to worse things, though. (Like our public toilets that look like lobsters.)

How am I still in the greys when I’ve had this account forever AND I actually live in New Zealand?

Apologies - our media has now confirmed 49 dead. :(

Jacinda and police have confirmed 40 deaths. I am beyond devastated as a US expat and dual citizen. I would have never expected this here. This will change NZ. :(

Tipping culture is so weird. Waiting for the day the US realises that business should assume the cost of paying staff is the better way to go. I think Americans hold on to it because it’s the primary way to have a class system.

New Zealand, too!

Or you could live in New Zealand where we have that, but also no tipping. :)

My husband and I went to Costa Rica in 2017 specifically to volunteer at the Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary. It was hard work, but incredibly rewarding. I recommend the place - they esp need volunteers in September and October.

I got used to the Piitsburgh left, then I moved to New zealand where everyone everywhere does it. Because it was written in the law! Then they changed the law: chaos.

Can’t believe the most beautiful pkace in the ‘burgh wasn’t mentioned: Phipps Conservatory (near U of Pitt). Got me through many a winter.

Don’t suppose it helped that they “took a few back to the lab”. Perhaps finding out how many there are first before killing a few to study them would be good...?

Ricotta is WAY cheaper to make here in New Zealand - 2 cups worth will set you back $9 ($7 on sale) at the store.

I’ve been out of the US for about 12 years now, but...what? People there still use checks?!?!

I’m with ya - those phone cases always seemed incredibly stupid to me. Then my boss confessed that he forgot his on his desk and would have been stuck in town if he hadn’t been saved by someone letting him back into the locked office. I knew for sure that everything in one case is stupid.

As others have mentioned, the land in WDW based on Avatar is gorgeous. Disney has the space to fully immerse park visitors in the land; it’s clear to me that they were using this as a test run for the upcoming Star Wars land.

I checked it out for the first time in October - my husband worked on the movie and was completely blown away by how well made Pandora is. We saw it first at night, which I highly recommend.

My thoughts exactly. Noticed NZ isn’t on the list, even though some places will lower themselves to making crap coffee for a tourist.

“But if you used it to check the grammar on your sensitive correspondents...”

My husband is a gamer, but I am (was?) not. For computer gaming, he got me hooked on Snood. Then I “graduated” to the PS3/PS4 with Little Big Planet, then Disney Infinity and the Lego games. All are fun without being too intense or difficult.
