My favorite part of the interview: When you say, ‘freak out,’ what does that mean?

But you kept talking to her?

WOW, this was amazing. Your mom should write an oral history of NYC during this time!

How on Earth did she get invited to be the commencement speaker at a university, much less an HBCU campus? This is on that school’s administration.

Sort of related: regarding the “lost Star Trek episode” sketch, they had to get a guy from the staff to play Sulu since they don’t have any 100% Asian cast members and haven’t since the beginning. Also noteworthy: the guy played the same role decades ago! It’s why his “It’s weird. We’ve never seen him before” like was

That “dancing while eating cotton candy” sketch was great, and a lot of it rode on the expression on his face - just utter excitement and delight, all the way through. He really committed, and that’s what it needed.

Chris Pine’s hosting duties on Saturday Night Live this week gave him plenty of opportunities to play to his wheelhouse of “Star Trek Captain” and “Fratty Douche,”

Friendly English Lit reminder: the point of this quote is not that Juliet is wondering where Romeo is. Rather, the “wherefore art thou” is meant as “WHY are you Romeo Montague,” as in, “I really wish you were from literally any other family.”

This makes me want to watch “Overboard” again. I remember enjoying it, but I have no idea if it is actually a good movie. I haven’t seen it in over 20 years (probably over 25).

I posted this is in the initial AHCA post, but there were 600+ comments so I’m sure it got lost. I just wanted to share my experience today in DC because it was so utterly sickening:

Best way to avoid accidents with guns... don’t have guns.

Shot through the heart, and you’re to blame, you give love a bad name.

Is the only kind of shot I will ever be.

“You realize that this job does not define your life by any shape or form...”

They’re both so insufferable. I wondered how they stayed married to other people all of those years. At one point, they were calling each other “Mommy” and “Daddy.” No way in hell would I be happy with my spouse behaving that way with their co-worker. Their divorce will be a shit show of epic proportions.

I believe you mean 3rd which is actually 7th in the timelline

So the 4th season would be “Handmaid’s Tale: Tokyo Drift”?
