My 10-year-old has phases. Sometimes she does it and then stops for months. Last year she was really into it, so we went to get $1 bottles of like 10 colors. She would change them almost every day. When my parents came to visit from Mexico she painted little flags on all her nails and toes. It was so cute.

@rbeck: She called at 7:30 on a Saturday morning! Wasn't that weird?

There is a "Seventeen Mexico" now? Man, when I was growing up there, I had to make the trek to the tourist area of my hometown where they sold US magazines and with any luck there would be one issue of that month. Sigh.

@SomeWonder: No you cannot get a retroactive code, you need to get a new doll, and it's one of the "Just like me" line, not the historical ones.

Growing up in Mexico, my Dad was very poor, so he kept white rats as pets because they were lower maintenance than a dog. Every time he comes to visit and we go to Petsmart and sees the ones for sale, he remembers and tell me the story.

How much per hour? I need some of that.

My 10 year daughter and I have a game: whenever she hears a new song or artist she asks me "Mommy, do they sing better or worse than the Jonas Brothers?".

Do you have to disclose it? No. Like it has been mentioned, a doctor's note and the paperwork from HR is sufficient.

@KayKins: You are right. In the last couple of months I realized that I do have a choice. However, I do not want to exercise it at the moment.

It is complex. I'm in (what I think is) an emotionally abusive relationship, but with 15 years invested on it, 2 young kids, no money, and no family in the country to help me, when I hear my friends say "just leave him" it makes me mad that they don't see how it really is not easy.
