What an infuriating waste of taxpayer money. Computers for the classroom, fine. More school suppies or extracurricular funding, fine. Free iPad handouts? No. Government should be supporting the education system, not playing Santa Claus for families.

In a long time: FFXV, KH3

Steamos?

Dude....first letter of every word.

Well, better late than never. How about removing the always-online DRM next?

So console sales are down before 2 major console releases? Who knew

Can I use Baron Wasteland as a character name for a game I'm designing? I like that :P

We are pleased to announce our new director of PR, Adam Orth!

Xbox Live Arcade is locked and there are games that have never been on sale or dropped in price... since launch. There is zero proof prices will fall or be cheaper in this scenario because there is no competition on locked hardware.

My Macbook plays CDs, as does my PS3; does your CPU not? I've also uploaded them to my iTunes library, so I have both digital AND physical copies. But here's the kicker...I OWN THEM (not yelling). I can play them whenever I feel like it, regardless of whether my internet connection is working.

We're not talking about MMOs and no one is complaining that a purely MMO game requires access to the internet.
No one is complaining that Final Fantasy Online required an internet connection for consoles.
No one is complaining that Metal Gear Online required an internet connection for consoles.
No one is complaining

Your point makes sense but it still doesn't justify making the 24-hour connection a blanket requirement. What Microsoft could do instead is have two options for license verification: One: verify the presence of the actual disc in your system to authorize you to play even though the actual game is being read off the

I think most of us know the 24-hour check is a license check. But what I don't understand is why the Xbox One can't also check the disc drive for the disc and allow that to be a secondary option for a license check. If I know I'm going to be out of internet range for a few days, I could just simply take my disc(s)

It's internet forums... Kotaku has a large audience, but a tiny tiny fraction of them go on whatever forums you're talking about.

I'm confused. In my response to you, at what point did I ever call your confidence into question as a negative trait? Confidence is fine, but to add to (or maybe just reiterate my point), it is fine so long as it is tempered against expectations in the context of your fixture in a professional setting and alongside a

Nobody necessarily owes you a counter argument, but I will agree with you that the two fields, although in the same industry are different. That being said, the gist of the article is related. It's about someone in a contract job, who's worked hard and had success, and prefers it.

This is where the art of negotiation comes into play. If you get a pitched a bad deal, if you compromise your standards, if you take less than you're worth and perform above what you're asked to do, that is all on you. By the same token, a lot of times employers will offer amazing amounts of money if you can perform a
