I believe the Easter event just seemed to verify the date on the server. No new update needed. That means that technically someone with a modded switch could probably crack their save file and flip the flag. No guarantee it’s the same for this event.

I think they’re adding in events as they come (well partly to give them more dev time) mostly to keep time travelers from spoiling everything for everyone else. I think after the first year, maybe second if they want to give B-tier events/holidays some love, the pace will significantly slow down.

1.5x storage upgrade isn’t really gonna solve the hoarding problem, but mitigate it for an increasingly short time.
