Possibly, I mean, story wise it’s probably on the same level as Giovanni’s capture of Mewtwo in the anime. Eventually the “slave pokemon” would probably lead an uprising and brutally murder their team rocket masters, and using the dimension hopping technology to attempt to liberate all pokemon across the universes

So, playing the original. It’s more story based than a normal pokemon game, (doubly so considering SwSh). The game does get challenging, as all Mystery Dungeon games do (some older ones get fucking brutal), this is somewhat mitigated because it is a kids game, but not completely.

In the anime and games, some pokemon just cannot be captured unless they absolutely want to. Presumably this implication applies to the masterball even. So logically these pokemon, with their whole ass society (in a parallel world that doesn’t even have pokeballs or the concept of capture), would all probably qualify

Except Ash in gen 1 got his ass kicked by someone who named their pokemon.
So logically, the bond is better when you name them, and you do better.

I knew going in that repetitive mystery dungeon type games are my jam. I was hooked since Chocobo’s mystery dungeon as a kid. It’s just not for everyone tho.
I’d say give it the length of the demo (significantly less than 10 hours), and if you don’t like it after beating the demo (or if you can’t even be bothered to do

I dig it, but I’m worried it’ll become a $60 ‘thing’ if they try to make a Switch remake. It’ll be like Link’s Awakening or Mystery Dungeon*, where they try to update the art and sell it as a brand new experience again when all I really want is just a nice full featured port.

The SNES version is the one that’s on every eshop. I would say the DS version is less logistically accessible at this point.

My biggest concern, FF7 Remake drops. 2 Years later, we get FF7 Remake Ep2. Then after 5 years we give up hope of ever seeing EP3, and maybe 13 years later we get a VR spinoff and are expected to think that’s enough.

Purple is the greatest color and more devices should come in it.

I mean, it’s good. But there was the remake (instead of 50th fucking port)

I used to save masterballs for the wanderings pokemon.
Now the catch rate is so high I pretty much only use them on shinies, I ended up catching shield dog in a greatball because the colour pallete looked good.

This is one of those cases where the latest entry is in fact the best one, and if you have the opportunity to pick up New Leaf I highly recommend it.

Except it seems a lot of the hardest fans for this games (from reading Steam reviews where it has 90% positive) ARE the people who have been playing DBZ games for over a decade now. I think Nostalgia goggles hit hard with this game for a lot of people.

The Switch is a first on Nintendo going region-free.

Eh, those releases are often available elsewhere in Oceania, either HK/Malaysia, or sometimes Australia. If there’s a JP exclusive in English, you can almost guarantee it’ll release in a market that’s not exclusive to mainland China.

EDIT: Ignore this post. I have the dumb.

I can’t stop seeing ads for this. Like, yes targeted ads, Kirby IS my favorite Nintendo character, thank you, which is why I ALREADY PREOREDERED this...

Blizzard played themselves when they gave an activism group the nod. Before that it was just people projecting, but then Blizzard made it explicitly clear it’s “values” line up with them. So when it clearly doesn’t, they’ve gone back on their own word.

(double-so for setting his brother up for failure by allowing him to take a starter with a type disadvantage to me)

Every Malroth scene which isn’t voiced, but forces you to basically sit through the lowest textspeed until it’s over?
