I would suggest that the one’s still spending money on TF2 have a special kind of disconnect, different from the ordinary mobile game x whale interaction.

I said the same 20+ year old games. I’d be glad to play some new 20 year old games.

Nexon *probably* isn’t even the worst offender, but I’m significantly less confident about that. They’ve done so much weird shady shit.

Bethesda also teased private servers coming to the game “sooner than you think.” What does that mean? I have no idea. I didn’t expect them anytime soon, so that really doesn’t mean anything to me. But who knows, maybe next month private servers will be supported in Fallout 76? But probably not.

It would be better if it was a thing 10 years ago, instead of having us rebuy the same VC game 3-4 times. Also their current curated list is missing a lot of games that would otherwise be on the VC, so it feels like Nintendo is taking it slow to drag it out and milk it for all it’s worth.

Honestly no. It mostly feels like we’ve accepted how shitty the gaming industry is, and all that’s left is to make jokes about it.

Except the West’s big budget games is a fucking pttance compared to mobile gaming and MMOs in Asia, which again, have been doing this for a LOT LONGER.

I’ve accepted at this point the world is a large and weird place, and there are people with stupid amounts of money so disconnected that they’ll legitimately buy cosmetics for a 10 year old game with the same enthusiasm as people did when it launched.

Valve added cosmetics to TF2 in 2009 (per the article), but didn’t really add the microtransations as they are now, and the loot boxes till later (2011?). They added this stuff around the time they first started adding f2p games on Steam, a genre that has been doing gacha/lootboxes for a LOT longer.

One of the Zelda ones got cutoff.

Amazingly, people were pissed about uPlay, and Origin, and Activision supporting the Battle.net launcher, and Switch VC locked behind a subscription, and even CBS All Access and Disney+.

FWIW, the Pokemon GO villainous team is apparentlyTeam GO Rocket”. Though it does not roll off the tongue well so I don’t actually expect anyone to call them that except the biggest of pedants.

On one hand, you should probably make the effort for Pulp Fiction (as well as Reservoir Dogs and maybe a few others) for the sake of cultural literacy... but on the other hand, everything about it as been referenced to death, so you’re probably fine at this point. I doubt there’s much to get from it that hasn’t been

I thought Mario Party can ONLY be played with a sideways joycon, so you’re ahead on that one.

I wish anyone made a 1-handed controller as PS3's move navigation controller.

One day you’ll lose a Right controller and it’ll be well again.

Literally my first draft I almost fell into the trap of “gaming is worth more than everything else combined” before checking myself. By probably all accounts, Endgame is more profitable than RDR2, and that’s only 1 of the 30 movies Disney will release in the next 3 months (hyperbole). But my point still stands that

I don’t regret buying it, but it’s been the biggest disappointment of the PowerA Wireless Gamecube “style” controller, that it does not rumble.

The Pokemon Company is who legally owns Pokemon. They’re a joint (like 30% ea Ninteno/Game Freak/Creatures).

Literally the only numbers I gave were the opening gross (not net) on the biggest recent video game launch vs the biggest recent movie launch. This isn’t about which industry wins your imaginary pissing contest, but the fact that the video game industry isn’t nothing. That a lot of money goes into and comes out of the
