In this case I was just referring to how the DVD/BD (from like, 2014, when they reprinted the back catalog) literally has the Disney banner above it. As if it’s a kid’s movie.

I’m not trying to defend Your Name. From what I’ve heard (obviously 95% of Kotaku commenters physically can’t have seen it yet), it’s probably not really a winner just because it made a lot of money. Even The Tale of Princess Kaguya, in 2014's outrage didn’t REALLY deserve to win. (Everyone hates me now)

I was not aware of this. Disney in the past hasn’t been afraid of mature themes, and in the back catalog is Princess Mononoke, which I found hilarious to see under the Disney brand.

I believe that year I was sad Book of Life wasn’t considered (I might be off a year on that one). Big Hero 6 wasn’t bad by any stretch, but it was painfully predictable in a generic sorta comic book way.

Have not actually successfully managed to see it yet unfortunately... At the time it wasn’t even possible to really watch, and since then it kinda fell out of focus in my mind.

I mean, it’s obviously not helping, but it might not even be relevant. A kids movie is easily capable of winning, Disney even says “hey, these are quality animated movies”, and aside from Spirited Away winning in 2001, you get the feeling that they don’t even get considered.

For point 1, your games are actually (now) tied to your NNID. The big problem there is the single system limit of the NNID is what would really have to be lifted.

As someone else pointed out to me, this requires the old Wii for a system transfer (NNID wasn’t a thing yet so they’re not tied to anything else). So even if going forward WiiU VC games work on the Switch, I think your classic Wii games are forever gone unfortunately.

Ah, is that so? I know if you lose/break your 3DS there IS a way to get your license transferred to a new system through Nintendo support (still can only be registered to a single device).

EDIT:Might be only possible because of the half baked NNID system, also requires original S/N.
