It was okay, better than the Genesis/SNES era of licensed games, but really not as great as it could have been. Actually the first LEGO Batman might have been one of my least favorite of the TT LEGO games. The series has since gotten better, with LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham being genuinely pretty good.
