I can’t decide if the best part of finding your way into owning a Ford GT is the privilege of hanging out with your newfound extended GT family once a year, or if it’s just a really f—-ing great car. Probably some of both.
It was fantastic (of course it was, it always is).
Jealousy seeps in this time every year. It is the week after the Amelia Island Concours and photog after photog are posting endless, beautiful sets of photos. Meanwhile, I'm busy downloading and encoding mammoth video files before I can even think about editing, let alone sharing. Ah, filmmaking.
Every year for nine years, the members of the FordGTforum.com and their cars have gathered together. Avatars are forgotten, in-person handshakes and stories are shared, cocktails are downed and good times are had. Oh yeah, they also drive the sh*t out of these modern classics. Together.
We all love cars. We study them, drool over them in print or on screen, so when we get close enough, we want to capture them from our own angle. Some of us do it professionally, some just for fun, but we all share an unspoken ethos.
Hands Down. The best Concours in North America (sorry other/hopefully-potential-future employer certain West Coast Concours). This is the people's show, ALL the people's show.
