and it should be noted that he was the guy who upset Nadal at Wimbledon ‘15, the same Nadal he’s never lost to (?!). he can play

this is correct

it seems like he could have just as easily decided to hit a backhand cross court and achieved the same result. i wonder why he chose to do it this way, his apology makes me think it was a mistake of some kind...

as a borderline obssessive fan i certainly hope so. it could also be good to have a bit of a challenge to begin the rest of the season, the first part went almost too easily.

this is a pretty shocking result actually. if Fed wants to compete at Wimbledon, or even Halle he’ll need to be match fit. losing your first match against a quality opponent (which Haas was 10 years ago) is fine, but not when you need the reps. this could be an interesting development...

true

but it distorts all of those principles, while using all kinds of false equivalencies to make an argument against something HE WASN’T EVEN ASKED.

it’ll be harder for him on these other surfaces, it always is. it’s not an accident that he has 10 French Open titles and 5 Grand Slams at the others combined.

so curious to see how Nadal manages the rest of the year. he’d do well to take some time off as well, given his injury history.

i mean the union in the early 90s which even in the face of that collusion waited for two years (after Fay Vincent’s resignation in 92) to strike.

the rose colored glasses through which Yankee fans (myself included actually) looked at him at the end of his life allowed many of us to forget that from the late 70s to the mid 90s he was the Donald Trump of baseball.

and Winfield hit for average, had an absolute cannon for an arm from right and was faster than he should have been around the bases.

never before today have i heard so many takes include the ‘world’s second best player’ title for KD. it’s fine i guess, though there’s someone else on his team who could claim that. or that guy on his former team, him too maybe.

are you Mr Baseball?

if Stan can play his hammering best he’s got a chance. he actually played kind of like shit today and beat a very game Murray, mostly by force of will.

daily wire hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

really happy for this kid, i hope he can finally arrive by beating Nadal in the semis. it’d be an enormous upset, even with the victory earlier this year over Rafa on clay.

scary for sure - but learning some carpentry will save you a shit-ton of $ and you may enjoy it. at least with a wood exterior home you can conceivably learn how to do many of the repairs at a fraction of the price.

ha awesome, completely forgot about that!
