WHERE IS MR BASEBALL

couldn’t the fact that someone has chosen to conceal their true identity also inform study of their art?

top: New York International Auto Show

this is a good idea

better, in fact

i feel your pain. Yankee fan who lived in Mass when the Sox came back from 3-0 in ‘03.

i hope you’re not including Popovich as one of your ‘white folks who need to have their opinions heard.’ this is a guy who barely gives interviews, often doesn’t answer direct questions, and certainly keeps non-basketball conversations to a public minimum.

i’m sorry but this is such bullshit. why is it that Ortiz, who has given the same fucking excuses for his steroid use as EVERYONE ELSE, is allowed protection from ANY criticism?

definitely like the potential for Pouille, but i SO prefer to watch Thiem play. if he can get his head together i think he’ll be someone to watch for a long time as well.

fantastic

if steroids do give you a power advantage (and I’m not saying i have a problem with steroids per se) then it matters he’s on that list. whether he hit those HRs in the bottom of the 9th of the ALDS or in garbage time.

Again, if 40% of players are black or Latino and 90% of the ones bumgarner has issues with are black or Latino, then he favors picking on those players. It’s simple math. I don’t know how much clearer I can make that.

1) The fact that there is 4 in 10 chance he’d hit someone of an ethnicity other than white when the overwhelming majority of players he seems to have altercations with are non-white actually hurts your point rather than help it based on your use of statistical probability. how? this is how i see it - if Bumgarner is a

i should note that as of 2015 approximately 40% of players in MLB identify as Latino or black. if he randomly threw at people there’s a 4 in 10 chance he’d hit someone of color.

this is what YOU said in your original post, and what i responded to:

I have listened to Terry Gross on Fresh Air for years, and personally think she’s one of the best in the business. Wambach is currently peddling her book, and I’ve heard countless interviews like this on the show - they are usually based on information laid out in the book.

whether this opinion can be backed up with ‘facts’ is immaterial. it is lazy to broadly stereotype any group of people, and worse still to then say ‘no but look at these anecdotes that back it up!’ (anecdotes for which, i can only assume, you were not present).

this is just as lazy as the belief system you’re accusing him of having

this is a good point. somehow i still love all the shit talking he does, and how his own rules don’t apply to him. he isn’t all that bright, but he’s fun as hell to watch.

thanks for this, i think his career/life might be worthy of a film in its own right. love his modesty, you get the feeling that absolutely none of it is false - he was clearly that good.
