I voted early, and quite frankly fighting with these trolls online is giving me a welcome distraction.

A toxic game being ran by a toxic company. Shocked /s

I stopped playing Pokemon years ago, because most of my “casual” gameplay time is spent playing couch co-op games with my wife. If I’ve got a spare few hours to play something single-player, then it will be something meatier like Civ or BoTW.

I put more effort into shitting than commenting. If commenting on a message board about your hate for Star Wars (stemming from your inability to get past the impossible standards of your nostalgia) is a large part of your day, you have bigger problems.

Yeah I know it has a bad reputation because it bombed on release and was critically panned, but if it came out today people would absolutely love it. It was making meta jokes about its genre a solid 20 years before that style became commonplace in action comedies.

“Hello, could we speak to the drug dealer of the house?”
“Excuse me?”
“It’s a beautiful day and we are out killing drug dealers. Are there any home?”

“ulterior motives???”

“But it doesn’t take a Beltway policy wonk to take a look across the pond and see that Eastern European countries that have stricter gun control laws have much lower rates of homicide than we do.” Actually it does. Those other countries dont have a constitutionally protected right to keep and own firearms. And while

Kids are so soft now. At my school, the students who survived a mass shooting had to move the corpses themselves, bind up their flesh wounds with scotch tape and still get to class before the second bell. And they were grateful for that Scotch tape!

From the little I’ve seen from Ready Player One (book and movie,) the references seem to be pretty mainstream as well. Like, they are making reference to E.T. the Extraterrestrial, not batteries not included.* So the comparison seems apt to me.

wow thats insane! The best I can say is a FC mate in FFXIV (Guild mate) buys gundams at this town I grew up in NJ. Me and my friends didnt even know this store existed in our town but this person from Rhode Island did!

THIS!!! The problem is all these people are still living with “nerd” mentality. These days you’re a nerd if you don’t like these things.

You say that like it’s a bad thing? Groweing up, I was desperate for people to be into the same things as me. Now I love the fact that discuss it is a common pastime.

Nerdism is the new normal...

Same thing with 30 Rock. They drop a Captain Needa reference and don’t explain it.

You and VoxArcana are talking past one another on that one. I love star wars, I like Batman and Iron man, but not enough to own armor or cosplay materials for them. I also have no clue what Hyperion is in context of Dan Simmons or what a Shrike is.

I hate you for this. I can hear it in my head now. DAMN YOU.

...enough to have stormtrooper armor? Being a nerd is less about what you love, and more about how much you love it.

That’s actually something my wife would go nuts over; she’s huge into reptiles and amphibians of all kinds.

Last night, I fainted 18 times soloing Diablos (that’s six carts). Rathalos wasn’t too bad—it’s just suuuper annoying having to chase him around. Fighting Diablos definitely reminded me of getting frustrated by, learning and beating a Dark Souls boss—and the pure joy as my charge blade whopped him in the face for the
