Agree. I have been wishing for a tag or something so I know to skip the stalker/rapist ones. I enjoy these posts to get a little thrill from something I (most of the time) don’t believe in. Last year I just ended up thinking every car was following me home or someone was in my attic. Not fun. 

I noticed an uptick in those last years, and this year seems in line with that (and possibly worse? I’m not sure because any time it clicks with me that that’s the direction the story is going, I stop reading and scroll on... whereas last year I read more of them). I think it might be the effect of all the #metoo…

Side note: What is UP with that? Seems like this year there’s a huge uptick in the not-supernatural shitty-people-usually-men-behaving-SUPER-badly stories.

This is one of the very best ghost stories I’ve read in several years of these posts, and was also such a palate-cleanser after going through way too much of the not-supernatural scary stuff.

What is more disturbing to you, the idea that a stranger was in your home when you weren’t there, or the fact that a disembodied hand has been scuttling around your place for months now, and this is the first time it’s been sloppy and forgot to smooth out its tracks?

I told a very condensed version of this in a comment to one of the Jez horror story posts maybe about five? years ago, so I’m officially submitting this now. Now with bonus pics. 

That’s really lovely. Like, I probably would have peed myself a bit in the moment, but after a change of pants, I’d have really appreciated it.
