NASCAR should go to these style cars. These are true stock cars. They need to go back to their roots but keep the V8's.
TUSC will have P2 chassis with manufacturer-specific removable bodywork. The idea is that a US team can take the manufacturer bodywork off the car, put the standard bodywork on and run LeMans. Whether Ford or Chevy make a P2 spec engine is to be determined by Ford & Chevy.
Gotta pay homage to the first test track, the old Studebaker track. Operated by Bosch now.
But it's a hell of a lot better than Indycar's biased penalties (always favoring Penske and Ganassi). The NASCAR rulebook has the majority of rules specified as a certain level infraction, so it's less biased.
NASCAR's new system they implemented last year does not allow for bias. If you do this, then the penalty is this period. This is what IMSA needs so there are no bias toward teams complaints.
Seems like they do need to go to a NASCAR-style penalty system with standard penalties laid out for certain infractions according to level. That was if you do this, then you get this penalty period.
Sad day when NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and FIA Semi Truck racing at the Nurburgring (100,000 in attendance) has better attendance than F1 at Hockenheim on the same weekend.
Starting this year, the Cup series will run in rain on road courses if necessary.
Not anymore for road courses. All 3 series race in rain at road courses now.
A motorcyclist did die, so there was one fatality. I'm guessing heat stroke because he did not crash.
Agreed!
seat warmers are excellent in winter, especially when it's 5 degrees when you leave and you have leather seats.
Stephan and the team are all good, friendly people. I worked with Miles Ahead one summer.
I had to get a different car. I ended up getting an '03 Land Rover Discovery HSE with 110,000 miles on it for a decent price and decent insurance for it. I was left with no choice because I had a POS chevy cavalier that needed a new transmission, new ECU, new tires, new radiator fan, new window motor, and the list…
They seem to be leaving everything in motorsport. The only thing they are entering anew is an LMP2 engine or GT for 24 hours of Le Mans.
Correction for you: 1st place is 47 points b/c winning driver gets 46 pts plus one point for leading lap.
Obviously:
Can't forget NASCAR earlier this year:
COTA, Montreal, Circuit Trois Rivieras, Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace in Brazil or Nurburgring. I do think NASCAR has enough following to go overseas. I think they need to do overseas to grow. The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series at the Nurburgring this weekend had 200,000 in attendance while the F1 race in Hockenheim the…
