But before that I need to set it up with a computer (before travelling) first correct?

When I connect it to the Ethernet cable do I also have to power it with a socket at the same time?

noob question. Do you need a laptop to set up travel routers? Or can you do that before you travel, just bring the router to a hotel, plug in LAN cable and set to go?
