D3’s pretty sweet. Not perfect, but what game is, these days? I’ll have to get back to it sometime. I wrecked my save by buying some modded weaps just to see what it was like. And the novelty wore off extremely quickly, as you might expect.

This game looks like shit, but utilizing music videos? I approve. However, I’d think it’d be distracting while playing—I’d want to watch the video. A lot better than the crappy pre-recorded session musician “live” videos, though.

It was embraced by valve developers. Still took a lot of coordination/teamwork to pull off. They wouldn’t have added the higher badges if they were all “bahhh cheaters” about it. 3 or so valve devs were using the same scripts everyone else was. Pretty cool. (I use the word ‘cool’ very loosely there.)

Cartoonish? The original WAS cartoonish, and so are the ‘updated’ graphics—which look better, IMO. The bright colors on some enemies, green & blue plasma guns, etc, were part of Doom’s charm for me (Doom 2). The gameplay footage of the new game looked OK, it just didn’t look like doom, and certainly not cartoonish. So…

I got the point of the thread; that much isn’t rocket science. I just wasn’t acknowledging it as it didn’t pertain to the point I was making with my comment.
