Oh, I appreciate any grammar/usage corrections. I take pride in my writing mechanics (I’ve got a copy of Strunk & White at my side at all times).

Hell yes. Bought a rust-free (Colorado sourced) single owner ‘06 Suburban 4WD 5.3L with 289k last summer for $3100 before all the crazy pricing hit. It needed a lot of small stuff fixed but it drove fine, doesn’t use a drop of oil now that I fixed the oil pan gasket leak, and most importantly is that it’s rot-free.

I know my avatar signals homerism for this vehicle, but seriously, all my mechanic uncles have been cycling through buying these cheap used and running them until they croak around 350k miles for the last 15 years. They’re bulletproof, and comfortable as all hell.

This is a good answer if you can find one without much rust.

Yes GMT800 is the answer, but they’re all $6,995 regardless of mileage round these parts btw.

I work in retail, so I just gesture to the general public.

“Stop the steal!” No, stop the lies and bullshit...now go Fuck off.

Yeah, the poor spelling, absurdly bad grammar, random capitalization, and willingness to believe in impossibly stupid bullshit make it pretty clear that Trumpies are behind this.

Sounds way more complex and failure prone than a very uncomplicated GMT800.

I have the feeling they’ll work through some kinks and provide some good updates in the first few years, but I also worry the manual will be a short-lived option. The manual red Badlands 2dr David tested is basically my exact spec choice, though I’d give the wheels a bronze powercoat within the first week

Overall, Sadly seems impressed”

Full disclosure: I did a total rebuild on a VW 1600 flat 4 one time, was about to mount the flywheel when I noticed I hadn’t installed the camshaft core plug. For anyone not familiar with these it requires a total strip down and split the crankcase to be able to install it. Four hours later I put the flywheel on.

Thank you! I knew there was another green one similar to the one in Sons of Anarchy, just couldn’t quite recall where.

NP all day long (assuming no wrecks, of course).

I owned three different A2 VWs back in the day, including an ‘85 Jetta GLI and a ‘91 Jetta GL 16V.

My ‘91 was a big-bumper, 2.0-liter 16V with the same damn Borbet Type C wheels on it. I made the mistake of buying the car from someone who had neglected it. The Borbets

Disk brakes. Pads especially but even rotors and calipers are easy on most modern cars.

O2 sensors...

Not sure about not picking up the feet, but the danger is this. In high voltage cases, 5000-10,000V, at some distance from the contact point the ground will be at, literally, ground potential (0V) In between that spot and the place where the wire is touching the voltage is dropping off.

Nice use of a Mountain Goats lyric.
