So, I'm hoping there's a bit of intended irony in your comment. Say what you will about the Tea Partiers, but they're exactly the sort of folks who are against the sort of bullshit government overreach that created the 25-year rule in the first place. And judging by our current political gene pool, the TPers certainly

Haha... Thanks for the reply! And yeah, I think the decision to go Subie isn't so easy if your water boxer's still running sweetly. There ain't nothing wrong with 2.1! On a related note, I'm midway into a top-end refresh on my nearly-daily-driven '79 Westy, and I have to say that I'm glad it's not watercooled!

Hahahaha.... Settle down there, little fella. I could list all the reasons your opinion is misinformed and strident, but I get the feeling you wouldn't listen.

Wow. I suppose I was expecting the results to skew toward the CP end of the scale, but I have to say that I'm a little shocked that this swap is garnering so much negativity.

As was mentioned in the initial thread, the AWD ride height ain't doing it any favors.

This chrome strip is the first thing that jumped out at me... It looks like that chrome edging that "urban" folks like to use to outline every door opening on their '96 Stratuses (Stratii?). Anyway, it sucks.

Sorry to break it to you Raph, but that's definitely a photoshop. Not even a particularly good one!

Pretty sure these two geniuses were at the OKC Cars'n'Coffee a few weeks back... The black car was there for sure, and yes, the steering wheel was removed.

Just bought a CPO '12 S60 sedan last month... Had I known the wagon was headed this way, I probably would've waited. Gotta say I love the sedan, and the seats are like sitting on boneless baby angels. Guess I can wait two years or so for the CPO wagons to come on the market, and snag one then. Sweet!

How the hell have I never seen this?

I'm sure it's plenty quick and handles nicely, but there's just no getting around the fact that it's effing hideous, and largely useless as far as utility is concerned. What's the goddamn benefit of having a hatch if you can't put anything back there? Why did they make it look like a mechanical mongoloid?

I love this so hard. That is all.

See, here's the thing with the "I could build xxxxx with xxx rwhp" responses. You haven't, but this kid has – and a lot of other builds wouldn't have gotten him noticed by the likes of jalopnik.

The phrase "show Hunt in that hotel room just plowing a non-stop buffet of stewardesses" just made me L-O-L. Well done, and I wholeheartedly agree. #COTD

And godDAMMIT, Matt... It's "an old VW BUS," not a van.

Hey Rutledge... I seriously considered buying your Caprice wagon when it came up on CL, but my wife threw a fit about the woodgrain. Laaaame. Anyway, did you end up selling it, and if so have you found another sweet wagon to replace it?

Thing is, this is all they really need. The typical fledgling-attorney-middle-management-generic-finance-officer types who flock to these sorts of vehicles give not a single fuck about anything other than the name, the warranty, and monthly payment. As long as Brian and Amber can make a "LOVE our new Acura!!!!" post

Look, there's no denying that the numbers are pretty incredible, and idea of all that power in a wagon is even better. But jeebus it's ugly. Am I the only one who thinks Benz stylists have lost their way? Look at the side profile in the header image... The curving beltline looks ridiculous. These cars just look

Let me be the first to compliment you on your astute, coherent, and intelligent reply. You're clearly a scholar and a credit to all who share your superior mindset.

Guys, guys, guys... Let's slow down a bit here. First off, let me point out that I'm a confirmed VW/Audi-o-phile, and that this is a gorgeous example. BUT... Ask anyone who's owned, driven, or worked on one of these. These cars are/were crapcans of the highest order. Flimsy construction, poor metallurgy, nonexistent
