If they were really ninjas, they'd have done the motor and the interior as well!

@russbii: Ha. That video was shot within a mile of my house in north OKC, May 16th 2010. Lots and lots of damage... Trashed my roof and gutters, and seriously damaged my fiance's '07 Volvo. Somehow my '79 VW Westy came through it unscathed!

@Jagvar: Or a whole lot of it.

@Whitetrashsteve: Yeah, I had a sneaking suspicion that nobody sentient enough to possess a driver's license could be *that* dumb... But yes, troll or not it's good shit.

Sweet! That was my comment Bill replied to on the FB link. Glad the car (and Bill!) will survive to hoon another day.

In case you don't want to wade through the comments in the link, here's a typical response from the Corvette forum:

Another nomination for Mercedes Benz at LeMans in '55...

Ha. I put together the modern interpretation awhile back...

I love the Volvo wagon stereotype... The second part is right on. I'm a huge fan of my '86 240 wagon that keeps chugging right along, and I'm a not-quite-34-year-old heterosexual white male from the southern plains.

What? No mention of a mercury switch (from an old-style thermostat) spliced into the horn wiring?

I feel like "crack pipe" is a bit too dignified for this particular offering.

I know there's at least one rolling around Tulsa. Saw it parked at Panera on Cherry Street the other day.

@British_Looks_British_Reliabil...: I fully support a COTD nomination here. In other news, I seem to have something in my eye...

My '86 Volvo wagon's "face" looks like it has Downs. That's why I named it Mongo.

@87CapriceEstate: They're as common here in Oklahoma as the randomly-capitalized words in your posts.

Yes, the price is on the high side... But there's no way you could duplicate this car for this money unless you did all the work yourself. Not to mention the fact that I'm guessing it'll stomp a mudhole in any genuine Abarth (and a lot of other similarly-price cars).

I don't consider it to be so now, but when I was 12 or 13 my dad came home in the worst possible family-mobile my mind could conjure at that point in my life.

Awww. That lead photo made me think of this one from my own collection... My daughter at the wheel of my '76 2002 a few years back. I always have an interesting car or two in the stable, and I can only hope it rubs off on her as she gets older.

@mkbruin: Yeah, I noticed that. Funny, too, since I was just passing through on vacation and was only there for the afternoon!
