An elevator is not a vehicle. If you’re analogizing it to a train, considering the elevator box to be like the train and the shaft like the tracks, there is one important differentiation: the propulsion system for the elevator resides outside of the elevator box. In that respect, an elevator is much more similar to a

I think it’s all about where you draw your system boundary.
Is an elevator a vehicle? No. It’s just a shaft with a car in it, and sometimes it changes the position of that internal car relative to its other parts. But the system as a whole is stationary. It never moves.
But now if we look at a smaller system, things

Tell me - who do you think owns Opel?

The Commodore is getting the 3.6L V6 with ~300hp and a 9 speed auto. No confirmation yet if the Buick will get it.

It’s a GM car already.

I’m pretty sure they would, since the Airbus can’t carry AMRAAMs.

The white camo pictures in the article are actual photos from Road and Track when the car was testing.

It still looks blatantly like a Dallara, so much for manufacturer styling cues then.

There’s also something “missing” from this, and I can’t quite put my finger on it. The Northstar cars were kind of uncompetitive, but they still sort of had an aura to them, this in comparison just seems a bit cookie-cutter.

Two of the top IMSA teams have already confirmed they will use the car, which is currently doing the testing. And you can clearly see it in the photos above.

It is currently testing, and has two full season and reliably funded teams running the cars. There is about a 99.9% chance that there will be two of these cars at the Rolex.

This isn’t a concept lol.

This is a Daytona Prototype International (DPi) spec car, not an LMP1. This will race in the IMSA WeatherTech series and may be allowed to run at LeMans, but the FIA and ACO don’t want DPi spec cars to race as P1s or P2s in the full WEC season.

Looks pretty similar to the Dallara it’s based on; they seem to have basically changed the lights and maybe the brake duct inlets. A bit disappointing in comparison to Mazda’s reveal, if I’m honest. Although this might be the “smarter” way of doing it, considering the Mazda breaks some prototype design conventions,

That would be sad. LMP1 is about technological masterpieces battling for supremacy. It’s what you want but don’t get from F1.

After I posted, it occurred to me you meant the “kamm” tail Spiders. And I agree, the early Series 2 kamms are quite pretty, but as soon as big black bumpers got added around 1975 the looks took a turn for the worse. That was about the time Alfa’s interiors got a lot worse and even the wheels got ugly.

His brother John needs to call him into the office and slap the shit out of him. And cut him off financially.

40% weight gain? Looking at the stats for my market a 1993 classic Alfa Spider, based on a 60s car, had a curb weight of 1220 kg. A 1995 Alfa Spider Twin Spark, the one pictured, had a curb weight of 1397 kg. That’s not ever 15%, even though it was 3 decades more modern.

You’re not doing it any favours by showing a phase 1 Spider in probably the ugliest colour. Now, a phase 2 coupé in red for example... Oh yes.

No, it’s just unusual!

Will you people stop talking about the 916 GTV/Spider?? I want one someday and prices aren’t going to stay down if you keep giving people ideas. Shut up!
