Does an average american even fit into a polo? :P

Except R5 isn’t WRC spec. So they’re in time out and the car gets bumped down a class when it does come back, and it won’t come back as a factory effort.

The last thing M-B needs is the perception that this is a badge-engineered product. Distinctive dashboard goes a long way to counter that.

They’re slowly expanding what the teams can do and build on their own. That’s why manufacturers like Jag and Audi waited.

Isn’t Formual E spec? That doesn’t leave these teams with much to do other than sponsor. I wish more teams would enter LMP-1...sigh

The end of the current era at least, that’s for sure. They will need to change things dramatically if they want to attract other manufacturers. Companies don’t want to go to F1 because it’s a bottomless pit of development costs, WEC cannot simply be F1 with enclosed wheels and longer races. Peugeot have basically said

This is the beginning of the end for LMP1 and the WEC.

JCW versions are always released later.

I certainly can’t say anything about ‘anywhere’ (Australia comes to mind), but in Western Europe you can go for days without seeing a pickup truck of any kind, young or old, large or small, work or leisure.

This is to Trucks what the Cayenne was to SUVs.

The Cayenne was preposterous, ugly, and the worst thing ever to happen to SUVs.

Until It was super successful and super awesome.

Welcome to trucks benz!

I must say I prefer Renault’s version.

Lets reiterate what this is: Its a Nissan with a big gaudy Mercedes grill.

Mercedes may be a “luxury” brand in the US, but hey market econoboxes in a lot of other markets. (And cargo vans here)

X Class? I’m “meh” on the design, but two solid thumbs up on calling it the X-Class.

2003 called and wants its joke back. Also: freedom fries.

Yeah, no.

My parents married in 1984. Their combined income at the time was $34k/yr. Adjusted for inflation, that’s about $80k, or $40k each in 2016 money.

THEY BOUGHT A HOUSE AND TWO CARS ON THAT INCOME.

I make $80k/yr myself, and I’m nowhere near being close to being able to purchase a house, much less a new car. And,

I don’t think it’s the downforce, I think it’s the power. Creventic balanced them for the 24h series, and If I recall, it was through restrictors.

I’d have to check the laptimes from some of the SRO races they’ve done, but I’m pretty sure these things have to be “downgraded” to GT3 spec, since they have so much downforce.

the image of a Range Rover quickly grew larger in my rearview

These remind me of the early days of Old-new Top Gear.
