Yup. I think this will mostly be bought by hotels or offered for rent in seaside resorts in the summer.

I don’t think they pass European testing either. They’re technically not cars and so can only be produced in small numbers.

That’s what I meant by double, I should have said split.

It’s really just a beach car. Range doesn’t matter much because it’s probably not extraordinarily waterproof or comfortable. You wouldn’t want to drive this on the motorway or during the winter months.

Citroën did the double headlight thing long before Jeep. And if anything, it’s the Nissan Juke that pioneered it.

You know how all revivals of old classics lose the original’s charm by becoming bloated, complicated, premium and, you know, actually good?

Wow.

Okay, this is weird. When did the Camaro become pretty?

If you could buy one, that is.

They do them in bulk, one day it’s all the crossovers or all the hatchbacks, now it seems to be all the luxury sedans.

They’ve done buying guides for all sorts of cars, I think the goal is to cover everything on sale.

You have five 106’s ?

Yeah, but those are only for the parades and they remain in the ownership of the manufacturers. The presidential DS 5 is at the Citroën museum now for example. I was talking more about the actual fleets the government owns.

I know that having a noble engine (ideally mounted longitudinaly of course) is part of the luxury car experience, but honestly when everything is done to make the power delivery as smooth and linear as it can be and the engine as silent as possible, what difference does the number of cylinder really make? Rolls-Royce

I don’t think it would fit very well with Volvo’s modern image though. Not to mention that in several years V8s will be few and far between even in the big German sedans. You can already get a hybrid 7 series with a 4 cylinder.

“It looks totally like a red Honda Accord Coupé if the Honda Accord Coupé were a grey four-door Volvo”.

Not this one though.

Well, since last year the DS 5 has gotten a lot more comfortable, but I don’t think it’s got enough room in the back seat to be a true minister’s car. It wasn’t made to be chauffeurred around in. But I think you should expect DS to release a true flagship after they have replaced their current range and launched one

It’s still widely used for that purpose. Neither Peugeot, Citroën, DS or Renault have had offerings since that were as stately, roomy and comfortable. In fact there are still some Renault Vel Satis being used by the government.

Wow, I think red ones must be pretty rare. I’ve hardly even seen one for sale or on the street.
