I've played the beta and thought the exact same thing. The mechanics are good but I need more than mechanics to suck me in.

Does that matter if you in an eligible area? According to the article it's more of do you, or do you not have it? If you say you don't have DirectTV then you can use it. At least, that's how I read it.

To be fair it is like the rock climbing they have where a person holds the rope at the bottom. I was thinking the same thing you thought though.
