Trying to block a sword with something as small as a dagger will get you killed regardless of how you hold it, therefore I did not consider it when making my statement. Please learn to use context when reading.

Interesting, I've never heard of lightsabers having a 'gyroscopic' effect. It must be a side-effect of the weightlessness maybe, or rather the change in the weapon's center of gravity. I'll have to read up on that more.
I suppose it just comes down to personal preference...for me, even watching it in action, all I can see is how inefficient or ineffective it would be compared to a standard style. Maybe I just don't see it? Even in the animated gif, if he held it straight, he could simply rotate his wrist to deflect incoming attacks…
It's a physically weak position to hold a blade, lightsaber or otherwise. It's kinda hard to explain...the muscles needed to block an enemy's blade or make the motion to strike properly from that angle are weaker than the muscles used to move it in the opposite direction. If someone were to saberlock a Jedi using that…
As a member of the Master Race, I feel entitled to respond with the following:
I'd like to opine that I find the criticism of his design change to be ....unrealistic. You criticize the fact that he was slimmed down, but he's had that design since before Gen 2 even went out the door; at latest this design began with the anime, which came out before Pokemon Yellow (roughly 1/2 to 3/4ths into Gen…
I think the fact that it's progressed this far, to the point of a working beta, in four days - with one person working on it - kinda debunks that theory in a big way.
My favorite is Mawile. I don't want it to replace Pikachu or anything, I just wanna be able to put a bow on mine. She's cute.
Was hoping to find Mawile here....oh well. XP
Like any martial art, they would start with something safer - like weighted rope probably - until they're good enough to be 'safe' with it, and then progressively use more and more dangerous variations. There are probably blunt 'training' urumi as well.
Of course it would be Australia. "You live in a place where EVERYTHING is trying to kill you! You've survived Sharks, killer dingos, the most poisonous lifeforms on the planet and everything else nature can muster! Now see what it's like if you weren't as awesome!"
Dynamite Headdy's titular character is a puppet with a detachable head that can be used to bash baddies in eight mind-blowing directions. Not to mention the game implemented the ability to power up Headdy by switching out head types. Power-ups are one thing, but swappable heads was a genius way to give players a…
I could understand if this was aimed at the Condiment King or Rat-Catcher, or even Mad Hatter, but Scarecrow is one of Batman's best villains, foo'. He's one of the few villains that can target Batman's insecurities without being a super-genius like Bane. Also, consider that they were hinting at Scarecrow practically…
My view is pretty simple. I'm fine with DLC for extra content, or that functions like an expansion pack. Y'know, bonus content and such. Sure some of it isn't really necessary - I didn't really NEED all those new rifles in Sniper Elite V2 - but if designers are willing to make it and people are willing to buy it, then…
It's hard to say for sure unless you actually attempt the trick, but a lot of times Video Game physics can sort of 'sidestep' actual physics, for lack of a better term. There have been many times where I've attempted various tricks or stunts only to fail because an objects' collision detection was smaller or larger…
Well, there goes my sleep for the evening.
Getting ready to possibly start into the Discworld series. I also want to re-read Terry Brooks' Shannara series, since I fell behind on it and wanna refresh myself before starting into his newer stuff.
Methinks Snap would make a great dedicated 3DS game. You could play it kinda like that Face Hunter game, where you have to look around through the 3DS' camera in a pseudo-3D environment.
I've enver seen or heard anyone asking Nintendo to be like their competitors, though. With the exception of Multiplayer online features, that is.
