Love that Sega is putting its Dreamcast hits on XBL/PSN. I wonder what it means by "HD upgraded" though. Reworking all of the textures or just a higher resolution/widescreen presentation?

I don't have a Vita. I will say I quickly filled up my PSP Go's 16 GB internal memory and about 1/3 of the 16 GB card I bought for it. Most PSP games were in the 500 - 1000 MB range, and I'm sure Vita will have even larger games due to the improved graphics. Don't skimp on memory if you don't want to rotate games in

The sad thing about all the whining and griping in the comments is the thought that it could turn Kotaku off from presenting humorous stories. Yes, this was a terrible piece which bombed big time, but humor's always a tough thing to nail, particularly when your audience is as varied as the one here. You would think

The future, you say?

Calling the homing attack "an easy button" is gross hyperbole. The homing attack as it is in Sonic 4 and Hyper Sonic's special jump are much needed means to allow players to change the trajectory of a jump. Sonic's jump is too floaty to be useful in all situations let alone ideal for maintaining speed. The "homing"

Options are fine; being forced to abandon the title character for another is not. I like Tails, but I suspect he would have gotten bashed if the game had acts where you only played as him. Sonic Rush was nice, but I didn't care for having to play as Blaze, even if she was basically the same as Sonic.

The homing attack is fine and a needed addition. Sonic's standard jump is too floaty at times, and the homing jump fixes that. Don't forget that Hyper Sonic basically had this "horse manure" available to him, and no one ever complained about that.

I can see it, too.

I wasn't referring to it being a 2-D fighter but rather a hodgepodge of characters from a ton of series across multiple companies. I doubt it'd be a 2-D fighter anyway given how generally ignored 2-D is nowadays, but something like Powerstone gameplay could definitely happen.

Could also be a fighter a la Jump Superstars, too.

Whoops. :p Nope, the expanded size limit was pushed through early last month. Before then, the .ccgame had to be under 150 MB. That's compressed, though, so games can be larger than that once unpacked. The same holds for the new 500 MB limit.

Same for me, and even though some smartphone games can offer depth — the recent port of Sonic CD, DeathSmiles on iPhone, and some others — the lack of a proper control will always bottleneck those platforms. Still, the games sell well and perhaps even better than other distribution channels because "everyone" has a

I'd still say you're looking too much at it being a "white/black" thing as Americans tend to do, which marginalizes numerous other nations and the diversity the sport has always welcomed. Yes, the Williams have earned success, but I don't recall this being about a certain threshold of success — just success period,

XBLIG is already up to 500 GB. Also, I believe Schafer is likely referring to "indie" developers and including himself in that group, the same way that Team Meat, Playdead, and other small but well supported studios still are considered "the indie developers" in the industry, while people largely outright ignore the

Tiger Woods, yes. Peyton Hillis, yes. Williams sisters... I'm not so willing to jump on that since there has been and continues to be notable black professional tennis players starting with Arthur Ashe. Tennis and soccer do not strike me as having any reconstructed racial roles as you can find in American sports. I

My only gripe there is that the "Z" content should have really been part of CastleMiner. CastleMiner Z and Loot Fest stand out to me as ways to deviate enough from the formula to make your game stand out on its own.

Possibly and probably not. The explosion of these voxel creation games is pretty apparent to be the result of looking to tap an eager and available market. That said, some of these clones have sought ways to differentiate themselves by adding new features and improving on the general concept. In the end, I think any

You seem to be quoting the figure Tim Schafer recently dropped about patching console games costing $40,000. We've not heard this figure substantiated by other developers or given details of how that costs breaks down, but then that would be a moot point considering XBLIG developers can update their games any time at

Majin on Feb. 13th: $6.58 (when I ordered)

I don't think you'll find more hardcore than Susan Andersen's "He stiffened for a moment but then she felt his muscles loosen as he shitted on the ground." :p
