It'll have to. Schafer's sure to be pestered about this event for comments and forecasting nonstop during his stay.

I can't say that I've been a fan of the Telltale games, but it's stayed a successful business even after adopting platforms which you'd generally think are poor decisions such as GameTap and the Wii on-line story where the company would struggle to sell. Based upon the Sam & Max first season, I didn't care for how

Same here, and I pay for Xbox Gold to do that. :p I like staying connected but generally playing alone.

Yep. Telltale has done well for itself as pretty much the sole outlet for adventure games, but it by no means could or should expect the kind of success which would allow for a retail release. I also wonder if Telltale is scared to have another hat thrown into the relatively small ring at the moment. Depends on if

Shenmue sold over a million copies. It was a flop in relation to its ridiculous budget, but it still sold well. I dunno about yours, my math sales that a million is greater than 95,000. :p

Telltale has already proved that.

This is no different than the CCGs which appeal to people of all ages. The tactics employed which made Skylanders a success are by no means limited to a niche market.

Adventure game as defined by the world and what Schafer himself outlined in his Kickstarter video. Pyschonauts should have been created as a text adventure, but it unfortunately wasn't because that doesn't sell.

Grim Fandango, Schafer's best work, sold 95,000 copies. I think you've grossly overestimating the mainstream appeal of the classic text adventures due to small but established pockets of love on the Internet.

Now playing

I'm surprised anything along these lines has yet to be posted.

Schafer's last adventure game came out 14 years ago. I'd wager a whole lot more people have played Shenmue than did Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, and Day of the Tentacle.

D'oh! Rainfall, this is Commander speaking. Cancel that last order.

GunFlame beat you to it. (I know cause I scanned the comments when I saw this article wanting to make the same joke. :p )

Guys, guys... Call it off. We're getting Xenoblade Chronicles. You can release her.

Microsoft's XNA is known for its low barrier of entry. It's based upon C#, so I'd suggest reading up on it while playing around with the demo games App Hub provides.

Yeesh. That thing is $40,000. That has to be clearly different than the ones I see selling for $400 or even $4,000. So impressive though. Makes you think we're just that much closer to holodecks or any other sci-fi cloning device.

I still don't grasp how a 3D printer works. Is it more or less a CNC machine? I see so many different interpretations on-line as to what constitutes a "real" 3D printer. That link says it's made from sandstone. Is that correct?

LeedMees (XBLA) looks nice and is a game I'd look to get if I got a Kinect. Try the demo first. There's always Child of Eden, too, if you're a Rez fan and want a new way to play it.
