I think the fact that she isn't a very good actress nor very likable as being a bigger factor than being asian. She was in Charlie's Angels, in a part not defined as asian, and she was terrible. Bill Murray went on record as hating her, for her bad attitude and worse acting.

Why the negativity? I loved the book. I loved the movie. The movie was truly stunning, and even Fitzgerald's granddaughter was complimentary. I plan on seeing it again.
